About me
A warm, calm space to talk in Aberdeen city centre and online. Free 15-minute online consultation
Taking the first steps in counselling can feel like a big thing, and I'd like to make it as easy as I can. You're welcome here exactly as you are and we'll go at a pace that feels right for you.
I'm a pluralistic counsellor based in Aberdeen, offering sessions in person and online. People come to see me for lots of different reasons: feeling low, anxious or overwhelmed, finding relationships difficult, carrying difficult experiences from the past, or simply wanting to understand themselves better. Whatever has brought you here, you don't have to have it all figured out.
I'm calm and gentle in my approach, and I care about helping you feel safe and at ease. To help you decide if I'm the right person for you, I offer a free 15-minute online chat, with no pressure to continue.
Training, qualifications & experience
I'm a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), and I'm currently completing an MSc in pluralistic counselling. I have been a Shout UK volunteer and peer supporter for 4 years, and before becoming a counsellor, I was a music and piano teacher, which taught me patience and how to help people feel at ease. I am also the mother of grown children.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
Pluralistic counselling means that I don't take the same approach with every client I work alongside. Instead, we work together to find what best suits you. I'll check in with you regularly to make sure our time together is helping. I draw on a variety of approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and creative therapies.
