About me
Hello, I’m Sarah, a counsellor offering a calm, supportive space where you can talk openly and be truly heard. I believe that counselling is not about being “fixed,” but about developing a deeper understanding of yourself, your experiences, and the patterns that may be holding you back.
I work in a warm, collaborative way, helping you to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or simply curious about yourself, our work together is guided by compassion, curiosity, and respect. I aim to create a space where you feel safe enough to be honest — with me and with yourself.
My approach is integrative, meaning I draw from different therapeutic models to suit you as an individual, rather than using a one-size-fits-all method. I value authenticity and believe that meaningful change happens when you feel accepted exactly as you are. Together, we can gently explore what’s going on for you, build clarity, and reconnect you with your inner strengths.
You don’t need to have all the answers before starting counselling. If you’re open to self-exploration and want a supportive relationship to help you make sense of your journey, I would be honoured to walk alongside you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified counsellor with a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling, and Trauma Informed Counselling (Level 5). I continue to develop my practice through advanced training in trauma-informed counselling Level 6. I place great importance on ongoing learning, reflection, and working ethically to offer safe and supportive counselling.
I have experience providing one-to-one counselling to adults, supporting people with grief and loss, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, stress, identity questions, and life changes. I offer sessions face-to-face, online, and by telephone, and my work is supported by regular professional supervision.
I currently am a counsellor with Cruse Bereavement Support, Butterfly Hospice Trust, and Circles Network. Through these roles, I support adults experiencing bereavement, as well as parents of neurodivergent young people who may be feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or unsure where to turn. This work has helped me develop a calm, compassionate way of working with people during some of the most difficult times in their lives.
Alongside my counselling work, I bring over fifteen years’ experience as a qualified Social Worker. This includes extensive work with all ages and challenges in both adult and children services. This background means I am comfortable working with complexity and sensitive issues, and I have a strong understanding of boundaries, safeguarding, and emotional safety — all of which inform my counselling practice.
I have also completed additional training in Flash Therapy, sleep support, and life coaching, and I continue to develop my understanding of trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming practice. I hold an Enhanced DBS, professional indemnity insurance, and I am a member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society.

Areas I Work With
Everyone is unique, and the challenges that bring people to counselling are different for each person. I am happy to offer an initial introductory conversation with anyone, providing space to explore what you are looking for from counselling.
I have experience working with different modalities and theoretical approaches, and I tailor my work to each individual. I work within my professional abilities and will always be open and honest if I feel your challenges may be better supported by another service.
