About me
I offer Person-Centred counselling in a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space. Together, we can navigate your feelings and how you experience them. I am not going to tell you what to do, advise you or ‘fix’ you. However, I will support you to understand yourself and your needs more deeply as we start to unpick what might be going on for you.
I appreciate that opening up about your thoughts and feelings with someone you don't know may feel daunting (maybe even a bit scary!). Counselling can bring up anxiety, embarrassment, or even a sense of failure - the thought that you 'should' be able to cope. There is also an element of comparison and that other people may 'have it much worse' than you.
I am deeply committed to the work I do and truly believe everyone is entitled to have counselling and be listened to. I have been on the other side and still have my own counselling. I see myself as a 'work in progress' and often need 'top ups' for my own mental health.
Just as you might go for a massage, a run or any other kind of self care, counselling is vital for our wellbeing. Yes it can be challenging and can stir up a lot of emotions, but my aim is to hold space for you while you navigate your feelings and make the therapeutic change needed to help you move forwards with your life.
By being allowed to feel your emotions and verbalise your feelings, you can start your therapeutic journey with me by your side. Counselling changed my own life - it gave me the space to understand myself and make meaningful changes. I wanted to help others do the same and it’s a privilege to work with clients and allow them the opportunity to heal and grow.
I am predominantly based in Deeping but have availability to work in Woodston as well.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified therapeutic counsellor based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, with a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I am also a registered member of the BACP and NCPS
I have 17 years of experience working with young people and their wellbeing in schools. This inspired me to further my career and train to become a counsellor. I bring deep insight into the mental health challenges individuals face, and while I can’t ‘fix’ you, I’m here to support you. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply unsure where to turn, I’m here to walk alongside you.

Other areas of counselling I deal with
I work with a wide range of issues. However, if I feel you would be better suited to another type of therapy or specialist, I will always be transparent with you. I want what’s best for you and will always endeavour to ensure you are receiving the right support needed.
If I’m not the right ‘fit’ for you, I will support you in finding someone who is. My priority is always with my clients and what is right for you.

Further information
Something I feel strongly about is that each client is unique and an individual. It is my aim to work with you for you. I am adaptable in my approach and attuned, which means I will use different techniques for different clients. For example, some are very visual and work well with drawing and writing things down. Others resonate with metaphors, while some clients just want to talk and be listened to.
There is no right or wrong way to ‘be’ a client and I will adapt to your needs for our work together.
