About me

Starting therapy can feel like a big step. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply need a space to make sense of what's going on, I offer a warm, down-to-earth and non-judgemental environment where you can explore things at your own pace.

There is no pressure to dive straight into the deep end. Therapy is a space where you don't need to have everything figured out before you begin. You don't need the right words or a neatly organised story to tell. Together, we'll create a space where you can make sense of what's happening, one step at a time.

Life can feel overwhelming for all sorts of reasons. You may be experiencing anxiety, depression or loneliness, finding relationships, friendships or dating difficult, living with the impact of trauma, struggling with low self-esteem, or navigating grief or another significant life change.

Whatever brings you to counselling, no issue is too small, and it's never too late to ask for support.

My Approach

As an integrative counsellor, I work in a person-centred, trauma-informed way. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful change, so creating a space where you feel safe, accepted and genuinely listened to is central to how I work.

Rather than directing sessions or telling you what to do, I work alongside you with curiosity, warmth and honesty. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and that lasting change comes from developing a deeper understanding of yourself. Together, we can explore your experiences, make sense of difficult thoughts and feelings, and help you move towards the changes that feel meaningful to you.

Alongside my person-centred foundation, I draw on ideas from different therapeutic approaches where they may be helpful, including an understanding of how trauma and the nervous system can influence emotions, relationships and everyday life. Together, we can explore not only what's happening in your thoughts, but also how emotions and past experiences may be showing up in your body.

I offer a supportive approach that:

  • Focuses on your experiences and what matters to you
  • Helps you notice patterns in thoughts, emotions, and your body
  • Gives you a space where you can be fully seen and heard
  • Draws on reflective exercises, mindfulness, or other gentle tools when helpful

Who I Work With

I work with adults from all backgrounds and stages of life. People come to counselling for many different reasons, and some of the areas I commonly support include:

  • Anxiety, stress and social anxiety
  • Depression, low mood and emotional exhaustion
  • Trauma and the lasting impact of difficult experiences
  • Grief, bereavement and loss
  • Low self-esteem and self-confidence
  • Relationship, family and dating difficulties
  • Life transitions and feeling stuck
  • LGBTQ+ experiences and questions around identity
  • Sexual or intimacy concerns
  • Broader mental health and emotional wellbeing

You don't need to fit into one of these categories to benefit from counselling. If something is affecting your wellbeing or quality of life, you're welcome to bring it into the therapy room.

Sessions & Practical Details

  • Offered weekly or fortnightly, depending on your needs
  • Both short-term and long-term therapy are available

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
