About me

'Asking for help is not giving up, it's refusing to give up.'

Life can be ever so much sometimes and we can feel there is nowhere to turn. Many of us think we should be able to solve everything ourselves, but as humans we really benefit from being able to feel and share deeply with another.

Having someone offer us their full, compassionate attention and bear witness to our struggles, anxieties and pain without judgment can be incredibly powerful and can support us to grow.

This is what my therapy will offer you. A space to be all that you are, to feel all that you feel, and to know that you will not be judged.

Together we will be curious and kind with everything that is coming up for you and will gently explore, discuss and challenge thoughts, emotions and patterns.

The overall aim is for you to become comfortable with you, with your inner world and subsequently the outer world so you can live your life in a new way, with more ease.

We are not looking for perfection here, for complete resolution, for constant happiness and positivity because this isn't life. What is much more useful is to understand and let go of the stories we make the inevitable challenges of life about and cultivate self love and acceptance so that we can meet the inevitable changes and challenges life brings with a flexibility and openness that lets us flow with life rather than against it.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
