About me

I’m Sara, an accredited trauma-informed therapist. I help adults break free from trauma bonds, people-pleasing, and the exhaustion of toxic relationships so they can finally feel grounded again.

I work with people who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or exhausted by the demands of life. You may be struggling with low self-esteem, low mood, anxiety, or relationship difficulties or perhaps you feel like you have simply lost sight of who you are, or that the way you’ve been navigating life is no longer sustainable.

Many of my clients come to me feeling misunderstood or drained by their relationships, particularly those recovering from toxic dynamics or experiencing the long-term impact of narcissistic abuse. I offer a warm, down-to-earth space where we can work together to untangle these experiences, rebuild your sense of self-worth, and help you find a path forward.

Therapy doesn’t need to be full of jargon or complicated techniques. My approach is relational and practical; it is about providing a safe space to be heard, understood, and supported as you begin to heal. Together, we can explore the patterns that may be holding you back, help you regulate your nervous system, and move towards a life defined by greater confidence and self-compassion.

I am also experienced in supporting clients navigating neurodivergence (including ADHD and dyslexia) and the emotional impacts of perimenopause. If you feel these are factors in your journey, I am here to hold that space with you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an experienced counsellor and clinical supervisor with over 15 years’ experience working across NHS, educational and private practice settings.

Alongside my private practice, I have held senior counselling and supervisory roles within NHS services, supporting both clients and counselling professionals. I also hold a Level 6 Diploma in Clinical Supervision and have extensive experience supervising trainee and qualified counsellors, contributing to placements, assessments and accreditation processes.

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling from a BACP-accredited training . My integrative approach allows me to tailor therapy to each individual, recognising that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to counselling.

I have undertaken additional training in emotional abuse, coercive control, trauma, Polyvagal-informed practice and supporting people recovering from difficult relationship experiences.

I am a registered member of the BACP and an Accredited Member of the NCPS and remain committed to ongoing professional development to ensure my practice is informed, ethical and responsive to the needs of my clients.

BACP

The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Areas of counselling I deal with

Other areas of counselling I deal with

Alongside my core counselling and supervision work, I support people navigating a range of relationship and life experiences that can feel confusing, emotionally draining, or difficult to make sense of.

This may include challenging relationship dynamics, family difficulties, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer feel helpful. You might notice yourself questioning things more, struggling with confidence, or feeling unsure how to respond in certain situations.

I also work with clients exploring family relationships, including estrangement, boundaries, and the complexities that can come with caring roles or unresolved past experiences.

Therapy offers a calm, supportive space to step back, understand what’s happening for you, and begin to find a way forward that feels clearer, more manageable, and more aligned with who you are.

I also have experience supporting clients through more complex or high-conflict situations, where emotions can feel particularly heightened or difficult to manage
