About me

Feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood or like giving up? Are you wondering if this is as good as it gets, does it feel complicated and difficult or do you ask what's the point of it all? Do you often experience intrusive negative thoughts? You’re not alone. I offer a supportive, culturally aware space for individuals navigating emotional challenges, identity questions, or life transitions. Whether you’re experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, or the complexities of living between multi-cultures - I’m here to help you make sense of what’s going on for you and get better clarity to have more confidence to move forward in the direction you want.

With lived experience of depression and the emotional complexity of growing up Arab in England, I understand how disorienting it can feel to navigate identity, culture, and mental health. Therapy helped me find meaning in those experiences and feel truly heard - and it inspired me to train as a therapist and led me to offer that same kind of support to others.

I’m also exploring my own relationship with neurodivergence, particularly around autism. Life has connected me closely to autism, deepening my insight into how difference is often misunderstood - and how important it is to be seen and supported just as you are.

On the surface you may seem to be coping - thoughtful, capable, and often a steady presence for others - while inside, feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how much longer you can continue this way. In therapy with me, you don't need to have the right words or hold everything in place. We begin where you are - gently, truthfully and always at your pace.

I believe that each individual holds within them the capacity to grow, heal, and find new ways forward. Every person is inherently whole, capable, and resourceful - even when life feels fragmented or even in the midst of pain and confusion. I also see each person as part of a wider web - shaped by the social, cultural, political, and ecological worlds we live in. These dimensions are not separate from ourselves - they are central to it and therefore welcome in therapy.

How I work

I offer a warm, non-judgemental relationship where you can reflect, feel, and be fully yourself. My practice is grounded in:

  • Gestalt Therapy - a holistic approach that focuses on the mind-body connection, present-moment awareness, and integration of all parts of self
  • Person-centred values - creating a space of empathy, acceptance and deep respect.
  • Neurodiversity-affirming practice - supporting people of all neurotypes without pathologising difference

Who I Work With

I support adults (18+) who may be struggling with:

  • Depression, anxiety, low self-worth
  • Grief, loss or trauma
  • Cultural identity, belonging, intergenerational trauma/experience
  • Life transitions or relationship difficulties
  • Feeling stuck, disconnected or unsure of who you are

Al-Khair Counselling

As part of my practice, I offer a specialist service for the Arab community: Al‑Khair Counselling. It’s a culturally-sensitive space where Arabic-speaking or culturally Arab clients can explore their wellbeing without stigma, shame or misunderstanding. I aim to support our community in de-stigmatising mental health and reclaiming emotional support as a strength, in a respectful faith and culture affirming space.

Al-Khair Counselling warmly and welcomingly extends this service to individuals from other minoritised ethnic groups who might experience barriers to accessing therapy due to stigma, silence or lack of culturally aware support.

You've already taken a first step.

Whether you're seeking relief, clarity or change - something in you brought you here. Let’s pause and honour that. Maybe it’s the beginning of something important. If it feels right, I welcome you to get in touch.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
