About me

Hello and thank you for taking the time to visit me here,

Question: Is this you?

  • 'Your body feels on edge all the time for no  clear reason'
  • 'You replay conversations and overthink everything'
  • 'You avoid things because the anxiety spike feels easier to sidestep than to face
  • 'You experience panic attacks especially in crowded spaces'
  • 'You have intrusive thoughts on constant replay'
  • 'Your mind wont shut down causing you to have bad sleep patterns'

When we experience any of the above it can be very debilitating and can have a huge impact on our lives. We can experience physical pain, stomach upsets, headaches, overwhelming tiredness and our emotions can spiral between tears and anger, completely draining our energy and stop us from having a full and interactive life.

My aim is simple, it's to help and guide you through whatever difficulty is heavy and distressing for you right now. To help you find your answers and gain understanding of yourself in order to move forward with calm and purpose.

I understand that taking your first step into counselling can be daunting which is why I offer a FREE telephone consultation so you can ask questions and get to know me a little before booking. Remember you don't need to know what to say, we just talk and discover together.

I'm primarily a Person-centred counsellor - which is a talking therapy - this means my focus is on creating a calm and supportive environment for you to openly explore whatever is on your mind. I wont judge, pressure or direct you, instead I will listen with care and compassion to whatever you bring.

Person-Centred therapy is based on the fact that we all have the ability to grow and heal when we feel truly heard and supported. In our sessions together you will set the pace and decide what feels important to explore. My role isn't to give you instructions or advice but to walk alongside you as you make sense of things in your own way.

Sometimes life events can become overwhelming making us feel lost, confused, angry or weighed down with the heaviness of the situation, causing us to experience extreme emotions, anxieties, stress and even depression. I know that reaching out for support isn't always easy and you've already taken the first brave step by reading this. This is your time, a chance to slow down, reflect and reconnect with yourself. Whether you're feeling lost, carrying difficult emotions or simply wanting a space to make sense of things, I'm here  to listen with acceptance and care helping you to discover your own path to understanding and growth. I am a warm compassionate person with a love of life and all it holds and I'm a great believer in self-healing.

I know that sometimes life can become fractured and difficult to navigate, life events happen, past traumas arise, we suffer loss or lose our purpose of self but you don't have to go through things alone.

If you'd like to talk I'm here.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
