About me

Hello. I’m Sam. I am a therapist who works with adults, one to one in person, or online. My training is grounded in the psychodynamic approach, which means I believe therapy is not just about addressing current issues but also about understanding how past experiences may be influencing thoughts, feelings, and behaviours today. By exploring connections between the past and present, we can gain deeper insight and develop more effective ways to approach life’s challenges.

I offer a complimentary 15-minute introductory phone call to discuss your needs and explore whether we are a good fit. I see clients in person at a quiet, private location just outside Woodbridge, with on-site parking available. I also offer online sessions, so geography or a busy schedule doesn’t have to be a barrier to working together.

Sessions are 50 minutes long, and we would meet at the same time and day each week to ensure consistency and structure.

Our first session will be an assessment lasting longer than the typical 50-minute therapy session. I allow up to 90 minutes for this to give you plenty of time to share your story and tell me why you are seeking therapy. This also gives me the opportunity to ask you some questions, explain how the therapy process works, and address any questions or concerns you might have.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
