About me

I am a fully qualified, down to earth, warm, friendly and supportive therapist. As an integrative therapist I have the advantage of being trained to combine different elements of various theories which can be tailored to your specific needs.

Life can be really tough and you may feel lost, lonely, hopeless, overwhelmed, angry or fed up with repeating the same destructive patterns over and over again. Having the opportunity to share about your difficulties and process confusing emotions can alleviate distress and give you the space to find more satisfying and rewarding ways of living.

This step can be nerve racking but you do not have to make any decisions straight away. Our first session together will be an opportunity for you to discuss what prompted you to seek therapy and is designed for you to make an informed decision about whether you would like to work with me. I hope that our time together will help you to discover, as have many other clients who I have worked with, that you are the expert in your own life.

I offer a safe and warm environment in a lovely room at The Base in Rendlesham (see photo) on Tuesdays and Fridays and online on Thursdays.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a BA Hon in Integrative therapy and experience of working with a range of issues which is not limited to anxiety, depression, addiction, gambling, domestic abuse, eating disorders, bereavement and suicide. I have worked in addiction rehabs and with military veterans suffering psychological distress and have a lived experience of ADHD, addiction, eating disorders and domestic violence.

I have engaged in different types of CPD (continuing professional development) to update my knowledge which has included but is not limited to; grief counselling, co dependency, narcissism and the effects of narcissistic parenting.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
