Psychotherapist, Psychologist & ADHD Assessor

About me

I am a Psychotherapist & Psychologist with expertise in trauma, complex trauma, relational trauma and attachment difficulties. I am also an ADHD Assessor having recently qualified at Harley Street, in London. I have worked within the NHS for more than 20 years and also worked within the community for charity mental health organisations as well as a male inpatient psychiatric ward. I have also provided advocacy within the Criminal Justice System with victims, offenders and young offenders.

My areas of expertise are far-reaching and include: C-PTSD, PTSD, attachment difficulties, relationship difficulties, the cancer journey, male mental health, and older adult mental health. I also deliver pre-trial and post-trial therapeutic care.

My therapeutic approach is integrative which means I use different clinical techniques to fit individual need and presentation which may involve strands of CBT, Psychotherapy and Schema Therapy. This approach has proven to be highly effective for a wide range of presentations and issues. I am also able to assess for ADHD - please enquire for further details.

I completed my psychological clinical training in Ealing, West London working within Addictions for 2 years, Community Mental Health Team, Older Adult Mental Health and the male psychiatric ward. I have also worked with clients who had been ordered to attend therapy by court order and in the Family Court. The client groups I have worked with have encompassed personality disorders, neurodiverse clients undiagnosed, relationship difficulties, as well as those who have suffered with abuse and domestic violence.

Further to my clinical work, I also teach at a University teaching postgraduate students therapeutic skills as well as supervise postgraduate dissertations.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified integrative humanistic psychotherapist accredited by the Professional Standards Authority, UKCP and the NCPS which meets the highest standards in the UK. I am also registered with the British Psychological Society, who are the governing body for Psychologists.

I will soon register and qualify as a Counselling Psychologist which will lead to HCPC Registration which is the registry body for doctors in the UK. I am a qualified ADHD Assessor having training with Harley Street Mental Health, in London. This training is accredited with the Royal College of Psychiatrists in the UK.

I work at the client's pace and have previously offered single session therapy which is ideal if you have not had therapy before and just wish to try it out. I have also offered short-term therapy as well as long-term therapy work. I often find an initial assessment is an ideal opportunity for us to discuss any future sessions if you wish to go ahead.

I have worked with an extensive range of client groups including forensic populations; that is, victims and offenders who have been involved in the Criminal Justice System. I have also worked with complex presentations who may have multiple diagnoses as well as neurodiversity. I have also worked with Older Adult Mental Health within the NHS as well as those who have been admitted to a Psychiatric Inpatient setting.
