About me
Do you wake up wondering why you feel sad? Do you go to work wondering why you are frustrated? Do you look at other people and wonder why they have it all figured out and you don't? Do you look at your partner and wonder what has changed between you? Get in touch and let's attempt to figure it out together. I believe that the potential for growth lies instinctively within you, but sometimes the process of unlocking it can be daunting and help is needed.
I am a Humanistic Counsellor, working with individuals and couples. I offer a safe, warm, engaging therapeutic experience. I can offer counselling either online or face-to-face from my home office in Whiteley. Depending on our joint availability, we can see each other weekly, fortnightly, monthly or when you feel you need it.
We will work in a collaborative way, trying to identify where your blocks to relating are or why you are stuck in repetitive patterns. I have been called direct, even challenging, but I believe that the service I provide can also be a highly rewarding. My main techniques are largely based around talking therapy, but I also like expressive therapy and occasionally variations of roleplay. Counselling may seem daunting at first, however if you are open to the experience, you may learn things about yourself that you never even knew existed.
We will begin with a free of charge 15 minute conversation (online or by phone) to introduce each another, discuss the main things you want to work on and understand each other's availability. Contact me to arrange an introductory call via email (sam.tlc@outlook.com) or phone (07594 001625).
I very much look forward to hearing from you.

Professional membership: I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and Hampshire Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (HACP)
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
