About me
Hello. My name is Sally. I’m an experienced counsellor and I’d like to be able to help.
Starting, or returning to therapy can feel daunting. Maybe you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, or worried, or low for a while now and have been hoping things will improve on their own. Maybe there are signs that things aren’t okay in your life just now: it might be strained relationships, low self-esteem, feeling overwhelmed by the demands in your life, feeling a sense of loss, unprocessed traumatic experiences, unmanageable stress levels, rising anxiety, addictive behaviours or developing obsessions.
You might know, deep down, it could help to talk things through with someone who can help but the thought of reaching out to a therapist can feel like a really big step.
However, seeking counselling is a sign that you’re taking what’s going on in your life, and what’s going on inside your mind and body, seriously. That takes courage.
I have many years’ experience in working with both adults and young people. My approach with all clients is to build a therapeutic relationship so that together we can explore what’s going on for you in a safe, confidential and supportive space. My aim is to provide a caring, warm and supportive environment in which you feel accepted and understood without fear of judgement or criticism.
My experience covers most areas of counselling, and includes:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Stress
- Relationship issues
- Childhood abuse (both female and male)
- Bereavement and loss
- Low self-esteem
- Traumatic effects
- Work related issues
I offer telephone, online and face-to-face sessions on weekday evenings and at weekends. I work in an open-ended way, deciding with you in time how many sessions are likely to feel helpful.
What can you expect?
We will meet initially to talk about your hopes and expectations of counselling. We can do this over the phone or via zoom. We will then agree a set time and way of working according to your needs.
I hope you will find counselling an opportunity to focus on your own needs and concerns and to explore your thoughts and feelings in a confidential and supportive space. Counselling can really help you find a way forward when life is feeling tough.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
