About me

Hi, my name is Ryan, and I am a Pluralistic counsellor. This may not mean much to you at this point but hopefully the rest of this profile will help fill in the blanks. I have faced my own mental health challenges through being a music teacher for 41 years and also have had to navigate finding out that my partner was Autistic, ADHD and Dyslexic later in their life which was not easy for either of us.

Being a partner or loved one of a neurodiverse person can bring about challenges these include but are not limited to:

  • Saying the wrong things
  • Not being able to go to busy public places
  • Difficulties with foods, including actually shopping due to the sensory issues

As a Pluralistic counseller, I bring together different approaches to therapy, considering a person as a whole and providing counselling which is tailored to suit your individual needs and circumstances, on a short or long-term basis. As a music teacher, I like to bring in the use of Music Therapy utilising manily string instruments such as the violin, or double bass.

Many people including myself will experience emotional difficulties at some point in their lives including Depression, Anxiety, Family Issues, Relationships and Work Pressure and talking through these issues can help. Whatever the issues you are facing, taking the first step can be the hardest.

I also specialise in Mens mental Health that can include:

  • Being overwhelmed
  • Feeling stressed at work
  • Family Issues
  • Partner Issues

My practice is open to all and welcomes people from all walks of life including (LGBTQIA+).

I also specialise in counselling the mental health of Teachers including retired teachers as I fully understand the stresses put on us and the affect this can have on family life and our own mental health

I am passionate about helping my clients to live life with Confidence and Authenticity. The aim is to help you deepen your understanding of yourself so that you can begin to make positive, and meaningful, changes to your life. That's why each session is tailored to you needs.

It was nice chatting and I Look forward to hearing from you
