About me

I specialise in helping people who are struggling to start, restart, or maintain an exercise routine or achieve sustainable weight loss. You may have tried diets and gym memberships, only to feel frustrated when motivation vanishes or the weight creeps back. I know that lasting change isn't just about counting calories or pushing weights; it's about mastering the psychological barriers that sabotage your efforts.

I'm also passionate about helping women through the challenges that peri- and post-menopause bring. There is no one size fits all for women going through this life stage, your individual diet, exercise, and emotional health all need to be tailored for you.

My unique approach is integrative and action-oriented, blending my background as a Personal Trainer with my therapeutic experience in Integrative CBT/REBT. I address the root cause of inconsistency and self-sabotage by challenging the self-defeating beliefs (the "musts" and "shoulds") that stop you from moving forward.

I can help you if any of these sound familiar,

You feel like a failure every time you skip a workout or "break" a diet.
You have unhealthy beliefs such as, "I can't stand the discomfort of exercise".
You use food or exercise avoidance as a primary coping mechanism for stress and anxiety.

If you are ready to rebuild a positive relationship with your body based on appreciation and strength, not punishment and shame, then we can work together to build tangible mental and physical tools to manage anxiety, dispute irrational self-talk, and establish a consistent, healthy lifestyle rooted in self-acceptance. Our work will help to stop movement being just another job to do into an act of self-care, empowering you to feel truly strong, inside and out.

Why I Combine Mind and Body
My journey to becoming a specialised therapist and trainer started with my own experience of having a chronic pain condition and going through an NHS Pain Management course. The multi-disciplinary support on this course treated my mind, emotions, and body as one single system and was transformative. My subsequent study and training, combining Advanced Integrative CBT/REBT with an Advanced Diploma in Personal Training, has been dedicated to replicating that holistic, integrated support for others.

I understand that the mind is the primary roadblock to physical progress. You don't need another generic workout plan; you need to conquer the self-defeating beliefs that hijack your consistency and motivation.

My approach is based on warmth, empathy, and genuine care, interspersed with a healthy dose of challenge. We won't dwell on what hasn't worked; we will focus on what you can need right now.

How does this all work for you? We use the structured framework of REBT to directly address core issues like lack of motivation. When I hear, "I have no motivation," I see a thought pattern we can fix. We dismantle the rigid "musts" and "shoulds" that lead to failure, giving you a full toolbox of mental strategies..

We leave the all-or-nothing mindset behind. Success is personalised and incremental. For one person, success might be resisting emotional eating during a stressful week; for another, it might be managing to walk to just one further bus stop. It entirely depends on where you are now and how far you can realistically go.

We work towards building Unconditional Self-Acceptance. This means you separate your worth from your weight or fitness level, allowing you to choose exercise and healthy habits from a place of self-respect and kindness, not guilt or punishment.

We don't just talk about fitness; we build the mental resilience required to sustain it. My goal is to empower you to feel truly strong, resilient, and in control of your health journey, inside and out.
