About me

It’s often daunting to ask for help when you’re feeling stuck. Having a warm, dedicated space and time each week to talk about what’s bothering you in a confidential environment will allow you to gain insight, increase your understanding and make meaning out of your experiences. Being curious about the issues you might be facing can be transformative, this newfound self-awareness and ability to talk about your problems equips you with the psychological tools you need to move forward.

You may have found yourself stuck in a recurring pattern and want to find out why. You may be struggling to get in touch with your emotional self and finding that it keeps manifesting in ways that are disconnected from the problem such as chronic pain, addiction, health anxiety, or self-sabotage. Maybe a major life event or significant change has unsettled you and you’re struggling to find your equilibrium again. Perhaps you’re finding that your internal world has been turned upside down by the external world we live in. I believe in bringing your psychic and social worlds together when thinking about your problems, I believe that the way in which our social identities intersect with our environments has a huge impact on how we experience certain challenges (whether that be race, gender, sexuality, religion, disability or neurodivergence amongst other things). I welcome all people into my practice and I encourage you to think out loud about difference, both between yourself and your personal relationships, and between us within the room.

Therapy doesn’t require a specific crisis—many people seek it as a space for self-discovery, healing, and personal growth. Whether you’re looking to deepen your understanding of yourself or process past experiences in a judgment-free environment, therapy offers a supportive and compassionate space to explore your thoughts and emotions.

What to expect…

I predominantly work with a psychodynamic lens, which means I am interested in your childhood experiences and how they may have shaped your present-day life, how you defend yourself psychologically and how those defences were created. I am also interested in how we relate to one another in the room as this can often provide invaluable insight into your relationships outside the room. Examining the relationship we build during the work, in a judgement free environment, is part of what makes the therapy relationship unique and informative.

Each session lasts 50 minutes and generally takes place at the same time each week. I am able to work in both short-term formats (12 sessions), or longer term/open ended work.

Spaces available for online work now but spaces for in-person work will be available from March in Chesham (Greater London - HP5)

About Me:

With over 15 years of experience in healthcare, I began my career as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist, which has given me a deep appreciation for the connection between physical and psychological well-being—particularly in the context of chronic pain. I have also worked closely with individuals navigating the emotional and physical challenges of pregnancy, childbirth, and menopause. Additionally, my experience in corporate settings has allowed me to support those managing health concerns in high-pressure environments. The injuries we face in our bodies inevitably have an impact on our minds, and naturally the injuries we experience in our minds will affect our bodies and how they function.

I am able to work with most difficulties that you might be facing but before we begin our work together, a short telephone consultation (10-15 minutes) to gauge a rough idea of your presenting problems is essential, as an additional referral or practitioner may be necessary either instead of, or alongside our work.

I work within the ethical framework outlined by the BACP which can be found on their website where I am a registered member (00984410).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
