About me
Welcome to my profile and thank you for taking the time to read about me and the counselling service I provide.
Entering therapy can be the first step to changing your life. You do not have to cope on your own, I am a warm, empathic and non-judgemental counsellor who can help you gently explore and develop a greater understanding of what is going on in your life.
Why Enter into Counselling
Sometimes as we go through life, we find ourselves unable to cope with our feelings and thoughts. At times we can struggle with feelings of sadness, grief, loss, loneliness or isolation. We may have relationship problems with our families, partners and loved ones. These feelings can intrude into our everyday life and can make us feel anxious, overwhelmed and lost. This can lead to low self-esteem and self-confidence. These feelings and thoughts can stop us enjoying life in the way we are truly meant to, and we start to feel that we are no longer able to manage on our own and are no longer in control of our lives.
How Counselling Can Help
You will learn more about yourself which will enable you to make positive change to your life. With this new understanding, you will have clarity as to the causes of your problems and you will feel empowered to make change. I work in a person-centred way which means I believe you have the tools internally to help yourself. I will help you find them, recognise them and then teach you how to use them. I feel passionate about empowering my clients so that they can move forward and lead a more fulfilled and happy life.
The Counselling Relationship
You need to feel comfortable with the counsellor you choose. Therefore, at our first, free half an hour, session we will explore your situation and see if we feel we can work together. It is essential that our relationship is right, and you feel able to talk to me and trust me to listen in a non-judgmental way.
Why Enter into Online Therapy
If you have a disability, phobia or social anxiety which makes it hard for you to attend face-to-face counselling sessions online can be the perfect solution. You may find it hard to get to appointments or travelling arrangements are difficult or you may not want to be spotted entering a counsellor's office, then please consider online counselling. Online counselling has many benefits, it can be done in the comfort and privacy of your own home, at a time that is convenient to you, using a platform you are comfortable in using.
I am a Professional Member of ACTO - Association for Counselling and Online Therapy. To gain professional membership involved a rigorous course of study and assessment in online and telephone counselling. I am proud to be a member of ATCO along with the BACP and I am committed to learning and expanding my knowledge.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
