About me

Hello. If you're reading this, you're probably asking yourself some tricky questions. Perhaps you're wondering why you're feeling anxious, sad or unfulfilled. Perhaps you've noticed something about your relationships, family, career or lifestyle, that no longer sits right. You'd love to know who you really are, and how you can get there without tripping yourself up (again).

Maybe there is something you've already tried to change over and over again, in many different ways. But whatever you read, exercise, medicate or do, stuff keeps on coming straight back. That doesn't sound like fun.

In therapy we'll aim to build an atmosphere of safety and security to explore why those patterns exist and what we can do to challenge/change them if they aren't working in your best interests. You can choose to work with me short-term (a set number of sessions, usually 12 or 18) or long-term (finishing when you feel ready).

Training, qualifications & experience

I'm a qualified attachment-based psychoanalytical psychotherapist.  I studied at the Bowlby Centre in London, graduating in 2016. I'm also a training therapist and occasional teacher.

I also trained at the Metanoia Institute and the New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling.

Before becoming a therapist, I was a freelance magazine journalist specialising in articles about health and wellbeing.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
