About me

Life can become challenging for different reasons. Sometimes you feel lost and feel ready to unpack and resolve what holds you in the present space.  Perhaps you want a safe, secure space to explore past and present issues. Or you would like to overcome obstacles that are presenting in your life such as anxiety, worries, lack of self-esteem, family dynamics and relationship difficulties. Maybe you are stuck or finding it difficult to manage change and what it is attached to.   We will work together to understand what is going on for you. I will seek to facilitate a strong therapeutic relationship which enables choice, growth, and insight.

I offer Psychodynamic therapy. I am a qualified Counsellor/Psychotherapist and I hold an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice. B.A in Counselling. Present  training is with the concepts of Jungian theory.  I have worked in the private, charity and voluntary sectors. I run my own practice, and I am an associate independent practitioner in a private practice in Leicester city centre. I am BACP registered. working  with a diverse group of clients has allowed to me understand better unique  experiences of  anxiety, Grief and loss, attachment,  bereavement, loss and change. Relationship difficulties and separation and divorce, childhood sexual abuse and trauma.

I have a special interest in cultural Psychotherapy.

I believe the past informs the present and as the philosopher Kierkegaard thought, “life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards".  our therapeutic relationship will be a mutual space, which allows exploration of  your present anxieties and difficulties.  All my work is built on strong ethical practice and will be focussed on your needs making space for healing and resolution based on a strong therapeutic relationship.

I will provide a confidential, non-judgemental ethical space for us to think together because only by thinking change can happen.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
