About me
You may have reached a point where you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, burnt-out, exhausted or stuck. Perhaps anxiety has become your constant companion, you're feeling low and disconnected from yourself, you're navigating a painful relationship, or you're carrying the weight of life on your own. Maybe you've spent so long looking after everyone else that you've forgotten what it feels like to be yourself.
Whether you're seeking counselling for anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, trauma, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, or simply because life feels overwhelming, you are welcome exactly as you are.
Whatever has brought you here, you don't have to figure it out alone. Sometimes the route back to yourself begins simply by having a space where you can exhale, be yourself without judgement, explore what's weighing heavily on your heart, and finally say the things you've been carrying for far too long.
My aim is to offer a warm, compassionate space where you feel safe enough to explore whatever is troubling you, at your own pace. I believe healing begins when we feel deeply heard, understood and accepted.
As an experienced counselling psychotherapist, I know from both personal experience and the privilege of working alongside many clients, that meaningful change is possible. I have the genuine privilege of walking alongside people as they reconnect to themselves and begin creating the lives they want to lead, moving from stuckness and survival, to living with greater confidence, self-compassion and emotional freedom.
My work is grounded in person-centred counselling while thoughtfully integrating Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Individual Psychology, and somatic awareness where appropriate. Rather than expecting you to fit a particular therapeutic model, I tailor therapy to your unique needs, experiences and goals. I recognise the important connection between our minds, emotions and bodies, and how our experiences - particularly those involving stress, overwhelm or trauma - can shape the way we think, feel, relate to ourselves and experience the world around us. For some clients, it can be helpful to gently explore these mind-body connections, noticing patterns, sensations and responses with curiosity and compassion, which fosters a deeper understanding of themselves, helps develop a greater sense of safety within their bodies, and creates opportunities for healing and reconnection. For others, therapy may feel more helpful through exploring thoughts, beliefs, emotions and behaviours, gaining insight into their experiences and understanding the patterns that may be keeping them feeling stuck. Often, therapy involves a combination of approaches, guided by what feels most meaningful and supportive for each individual, but my fundamental belief is that every person is different, and therefore therapy should be tailored to reflect that and meet each client's individual needs.
I also have experience supporting clients who feel they experience the world differently, including those with ADHD and autism, and those who are beginning to explore and understand their own unique ways of thinking, feeling and processing life. I recognise that many people reach therapy after years of feeling misunderstood, overwhelmed, or as though they need to work harder to fit into a world that doesn't always feel designed for them. My approach is neuro-affirming and centred around understanding you as a whole person. Together, we can explore the challenges you may be experiencing, whether that is emotional overwhelm, burnout, anxiety, self-esteem, relationships, people-pleasing, or navigating work and everyday life. Therapy can provide a space to better understand yourself, recognise your strengths, and develop ways of coping that feel supportive and aligned with who you are.
I offer one-to-one counselling and psychotherapy for adults, both online across the UK and in person from my peaceful therapy room at Goldingham Hall in Bulmer, Essex. Set within a tranquil countryside setting, the practice offers a calm and private space to step away from the demands of everyday life and focus entirely on yourself.
The practice is approximately ten minutes from Halstead, Sudbury, Castle Hedingham, Sible Hedingham and Great Yeldham; around twenty minutes from Long Melford, Clare, Haverhill, Braintree, Finchingfield and Coggeshall; thirty minutes from Colchester; and around forty minutes from Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds.
If travelling isn't convenient, online counselling provides the flexibility of accessing therapy from the comfort and privacy of your own home.
Finding the right counsellor is an important decision, and I understand that taking the first step can feel daunting. Whether you are new to therapy or have had counselling before, my hope is that you will find a space where you feel heard, understood, and accepted exactly as you are.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully qualified person-centred counselling psychotherapist which means I have completed over four and a half years of training and have met all the necessary requirements to join the BACP as a registered member. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting a diverse range of clients across different age groups and backgrounds, including in charitable and community-based settings, where I continue to offer my time.
I have experience of working in various schools, supporting young people with their mental health and I currently offer my therapeutic services through several practices, including my own, Tidal Waves Therapy.
Sometimes life can feel calm and predictable, other times intense or overwhelming. Whatever it is that you are facing, I am here to support you through the ebb and flow of life.
Therapy offers the opportunity to pause, reflect, and build the inner resources needed to navigate life’s waves with greater resilience, awareness, and self-compassion. Whether you're in the midst of a storm or simply seeking clarity in quieter waters, you don’t have to face it alone.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
As a proud member of the neurodivergent community myself, I have a particular interest in supporting adults diagnosed later in life, or those navigating life with or alongside neurodivergence. I also have a strong passion for supporting parents and families, offering a space to reflect, understand, and reconnect in what can often be a very demanding stage of life.
