About me
I am a BACP registered Therapeutic Counsellor. I have been working with clients since 2018.
I have extensive experience in supporting people through complex bereavement, suicidal crisis, challenging life circumstances or crises, social anxiety, relationship issues, work stress, past trauma, and symptoms and issues typically associated with varying forms of depression and anxiety, and other common mental health problems.
Additional to my private work, I currently also work part-time as a Senior Therapist in the field of male suicide prevention for a leading national charity. Through this work I have developed a strong interest in men's mental health, as well as issues relating to neurodiversity, discrimination and sexuality.
Essentially, I am passionate about helping people remove or work through the barriers that are inhibiting them in living a fulfilling, meaningful life, and to help them develop their innate self-worth and human potential.
A message to you, potential client - I have been trained in a therapeutic approach called Integrative Therapeutic Counselling. This can incorporate a range of modalities to work flexibly with your preferences, needs, processing and learning styles, as well as your therapeutic and life goals. My core way of working is a humanistic / person-centred approach that is informed by psychodynamic and relational theories, as well as 3rd wave CBT approaches (ACT and CFT), spiritual practices, mindfulness and trauma-informed strategies to support the clients I work with. My main objective is to create a safe space where you can collaborate with me to facilitate your individual process, in order to grow and change through the experience of the issues you are bravely facing, or have faced. I will acknowledge you as a unique person - your thoughts, feelings, insights, strengths and skills, so that you can find understanding and catharsis, and then solutions that you can align with. My approach does (depending on the issue), at times, require you to actively challenge your own thoughts, feelings, core beliefs, relational and behavioural patterns. In my experience, it is often the case that clients that are more willing to engage and be active in doing the therapeutic work both in, and outside of sessions, tend to see a substantial difference, as I always say, 'there is no change, without change'. I believe in helping you develop your own inner wisdom and authority, and therefore any suggestions I may have will be decided and agreed only in collaboration with you, and with care, and at comfortable pace for you. With this I encourage you to feel safe in communicating with me what is, or is not working for you in our therapeutic work, as this also helps me to work more effectively with you.
I look forward to hearing from you!

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
