About me
I’m a psychotherapist based in Edinburgh, working in person and online.
People who come to me often already understand themselves in many ways. And yet something does not shift. Certain feelings, choices, desires, or relationship patterns return, again and again, sometimes against your own intentions.
You might find yourself repeating something you had decided to stop. You might feel pulled between different parts of yourself, without resolution. There may be forms of shame—about desire, about experience, about who you find yourself to be—that are difficult to speak. Or there may be anxiety or low mood that does not settle into any clear explanation.
Therapy offers a different kind of space for these difficulties. Not one organised around quick solutions or reassurance, but one in which what does not fit can be approached more carefully.
My approach is exploratory and collaborative. We would slow things down and attend closely to how you experience what is happening, including the elements that resist simple understanding. Rather than trying to correct or remove what is difficult, the work is to understand how it has come to take its place in your life: in your relationships, your responses, your sense of yourself.
Over time, patterns often begin to show themselves—not as abstract ideas, but as something lived and repeated. Therapy makes it possible to encounter these patterns differently.
I work with:
– Repeating or self-defeating patterns
– Shame, guilt, and self-criticism
– Difficulties in intimacy and relating
– Questions of identity, responsibility, and meaning
– Sexuality, desire, and taboo
– The impact of sexual harm, including childhood sexual abuse
– Problematic or compulsive internet and pornography use
– Gender, sexual, and relationship diversity
My work is relational and trauma-informed. I offer a confidential space in which complex or uncomfortable material can be spoken about without judgement, and without pressure to simplify.
I work with people of all genders, sexual orientations, relationship styles, and cultural backgrounds and individuals who are neurodivergent or are in the process of exploring their neurodivergent identity. I see both those new to therapy and those who have had previous therapy but are looking for something more sustained.

Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Diploma in Counselling in Transactional Analysis from Physis Scotland, a COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills, and a Hypnotherapy Practitioners Diploma (HPD).
My clinical training has included work with childhood sexual abuse, sexual offending, trauma, shame, and pre-trial therapy. These are areas that demand careful ethical judgement and the capacity to remain alongside material that is often complex, sensitive, and difficult to speak about. This experience continues to shape my wider practice.
Alongside this, I bring a background in academic teaching and supervision. This informs the way I work: attentive to detail, reflective, and concerned with how meaning is made rather than assumed.
I work within established professional and ethical frameworks. My practice is supported by ongoing clinical supervision and continuing professional development, which provide a structure for reflection, accountability, and the sustained examination of my work.
Member organisations
COSCA is the professional body for counselling and psychotherapy in Scotland, and seeks to advance all forms of counselling and psychotherapy and the use of counselling skills by promoting best practice and through the delivery of a range of sustainable services. COSCA Counsellor Accreditation is a pathway to entry onto the UKRC. It is a requirement of all individual and organisational members of COSCA to abide by its Statement of Ethics and Code of Practice and be accountable to the Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
