About me

Hello!

My aim is to be gentle, safe, and supportive. To help you deal with the difficulties that you are experiencing or the changes you want to make.

I believe that being kind and understanding is a crucial ingredient of human life. This applies to how we are towards ourselves as well as towards others.

Having someone non-judgemental to talk to, someone independent and confidential, means that you can explore things that you cannot explore elsewhere.

We all have aspects of ourselves that we are not consciously aware of. One of the skills of therapy is the exploration of these aspects.

I am a great believer in the deep connection between mind and body. Indeed, I would say that it is all one system.

Ultimately, good therapy is about the relationship between the practitioner and the client. Whether you, in time, can feel comfortable and safe with your therapist.

Please feel free to get in touch so that we can have an initial free chat and for you to decide whether you feel that I am the right therapist for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I was for many years a lawyer in a stressful job. I bring life experience.

I trained in the modality of Transactional Analysis at the Berne Institute and gained a postgraduate diploma (level 7) that is validated by Middlesex University. I am a member of the Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy College of the UKCP.

I am interested in all sorts of approaches and ideas, and so I like to look at a range of things which I hope to synthesise into my practice. I am a pluralist.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
