About me

You may be feeling overwhelmed by life, anxiety or depression disrupting your wellbeing, making you feel less than acceptable to yourself and others.  Difficult experiences in the past may leave you feeling stuck and alone in the present. Traumatic events may have left you struggling to understand and process strong emotions and bodily sensations making it hard to be around other people and leaving you with a sense of loneliness and isolation.

I am a relationally trained Integrative Counsellor qualified to work with adults. I work in a client centred fashion to create a confidential, safe, supportive environment.  As an integrative therapist, I use Psycho-dynamic principles to support and enable your understanding of how life's past experiences form and shape your way of relating to yourself in a conscious and unconscious process.  My role in your journey is to travel alongside you as you move towards greater self-awareness and acceptance.

The journey of self-discovery is unique to each of us, a blend of exploring the painful things that happened, as well as reflecting on the positive life enhancing experiences that did not occur.  We might explore your lived experiences together with the shared intent to deepen and clarify your relationship with yourself.  Such understanding may create the potential of positive change in self esteem and autonomy, allowing you to resolve old difficulties and choose your own best way forward.

I offer face to face Counselling from: Spaces, Room 2.44, 9 Greyfriars Road, Reading Berkshire, RG1 1NU  The nearest multi-story car park is the Broad Street Mall car park, 4/5 minutes' walk away.

I offer online or phone therapy to adults located anywhere in the United Kingdom.

Thank you for taking the time to view my profile.  I offer free 15 minute phone consultations to give you the opportunity to see if I feel like a good fit for you as your counsellor.  Please contact me via the 'email me' button above. I will endeavour to reply to you within 24 hours to arrange a mutual time for the call.  If you've not heard back from me in 24 hours, please do check your email spam folder, as this happens from time to time.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Registered Member of the BACP.  I began training as a Counsellor in 2019 following careers in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Facilities Management.  I completed my  core qualification of a CPCAB L4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling in 2022.  During the early stages of my counselling journey I gained 3 years experience volunteering as a counsellor delivering a 3 phase trauma informed therapeutic model with a Reading Charity supporting the victims of rape and sexual abuse, during that time I also had the privilege of co-facilitiating support groups for male victims of abuse.

I have been in private practice as a therapeutic counsellor since November 2022.  Currently I have delivered over 2500 counselling sessions to clients since 2021.

I have carried out further Certificate level studies in Couples Counselling in 2025.

I completed a further qualification of the CPCAB L5 Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling in 2026 and am currently working towards achieving BACP accreditation.

I am committed to continued professional development and passionately believe that everyone deserves to be seen, heard and supported.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I offer an initial free phone call to explore your needs and  expectations of therapy. Together we will establish whether I am able to meet these for you.  If we find that I'm not the right therapist for you, I would endeavour to refer you to another therapist who is able to support you.  You may not be sure exactly what it is that's troubling you, or what to expect, and that's okay too.  My role is to offer you psycho-education to empower you to act in your own best interests moving forward.  Therapy is a collaborative journey of discovery and the therapeutic relationship is a dynamic and evolving experience, the aim being to assist you in deepening your self-awareness.

If after our call, you choose to proceed, we will arrange to meet for regular weekly 50 minute sessions. I can accomodate short, long term and open ended work and will typically review with you every 6/8 sessions to ensure my focus is on your aims and is oriented to meeting your needs.  Therapy is a voluntary open ended journey and we may in the future agree that you reduce to fortnightly or monthly supportive therapy sessions. This would be a collaborative decision between us.  My ethical duty of care to you requires me to consider your safety and well-being.

It is my belief that an ending session or series of sessions related to the length of therapy is an important aspect of the therapeutic journey, allowing for reflection,  consolidation and closure.
