About us

The experienced team at Riverwood Counselling and Wellbeing Practice offer individual counselling for adults and young people 9+, couples counselling, group work, wellbeing support for corporate organisations and training for counselling professionals. We are accredited counsellors for the Infant Loss Foundation.

We provide sessions throughout the week (including evening appointments) in our comfortable suite of therapy rooms based in Eaton Ford, near St Neots, Cambs. We also offer phone and online (Zoom) sessions.

Having someone truly listen to you and help you explore, whatever the issue is, can be a valuable experience and hard to find in daily life. We believe in the uniqueness of each person, appreciate diversity and value each client highly.

Having a team of practitioners available means we can find the right therapist for you based on what you want to achieve from counselling and who you may find an easy connection with.

We walk alongside you, helping you explore your life, yourself and your relationships, working with you to move towards a place where you would rather be.

We are a GSRD and Neurodiversity informed and affirmative practice.

Training, qualifications & experience

Our Counselling Team consists of professionally qualified Integrative Counsellors (combining person-centred, psychodynamic and existential approaches) who are all registered members of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

We work within the BACP Ethical Framework to ensure we are working safely and in the best interests of the client.

All our counsellors hold current Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.

Within the team we have experience of working with adults and young people across a wide range of client issues. Please see our website for more details of individual experience: www.riverwoodcounselling.co.uk

Member organisations *

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
