About me
Life can bring loss, change and many challenges, and it is understandable that at times we might look for support in facing them. As a counsellor, my role is to provide a safe confidential space to help you on your journey of self discovery; to enable you to examine your life and make new meaningful choices within it.
I offer short and long-term therapy from my consultant room to adults and young people (15-18yrs). I offer counselling face-to-face, by telephone and online using zoom which enables those at a geographic distance to connect with me.
I am a Person-Centred counsellor and supervisor, experienced in using Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy tools when appropriate. This is a non judgemental way of working, where I am committed to creating the right conditions to help you increase your self awareness to move towards and reach your fullest potential.
I work with people from all walks of life and backgrounds, coming to me with a diverse range of problems.
As a fully qualified counsellor, I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and abide by their code of ethics.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have 9 years experience of working as a counsellor, and 3 years as a supervisor. As well as a private practice I work for Aberdeen University within the counselling service, where I work with students and staff members, offering counselling and Psycho-Educational workshops. I have experience of counselling within a medical and hospital setting where adult clients presented with a range of issues. In addition, I also have experience setting up and overseeing a counselling service within an Aberdeen High School.
As a supervisor I work with counsellors in training, qualified counsellors working with adults, and working with young people. In supervision, I work towards creating a relationship where there is support, challenge, respect and dialogue where we can learn and discover together. I am person-centred in my approach and work mostly with person-centred and integrative supervisees.
My commitment to my work as a counsellor, supervisor, and workshop facilitator continues and I appreciate the rich diversity my practice offers.
- Certificate in supervision April 2018 - June 2019
- Diploma in Counselling, an Integrated Model, Dialogue between Person Centred/Psychodynamic Sep 2011- July 2013
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
