About me
I am a Counselling Psychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and with chartered membership of the British Psychological Society. I am a warm and compassionate practitioner who provides a safe and non-judgemental space for therapy. My approach centres around providing the right conditions for you to understand your experience and connect with what’s important to you in your life.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a wide range of experience providing psychological therapy in various settings including primary care within the NHS, higher education, and third-sector organisations. I have supported people experiencing difficulties around pregnancy, birth and becoming a parent. I also have experience working with those affected by health issues such as cancer. Before becoming a psychologist, I worked as a nurse within the NHS, and have a good understanding of the healthcare system and how illness can affect us psychologically.
I take a collaborative approach to therapy, working together with my clients to find the best way forward for them. My core therapeutic models are Person-Centred and Experiential Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I also use elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Compassion-Focused Therapy.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
