About me

I am a person-centred psychotherapist offering one-to-one sessions to those who are looking for support.

For some, the wide range of approaches to therapy out there might be confusing or overwhelming making it hard to decide which one is right for you. My approach to therapy centres around you. I believe in an empathic, non-judgemental, and accepting environment we are able to have a clearer understanding of our needs, behaviours, decisions and potential for growth. Through offering genuine acceptance, I believe you will be able to foster self-acceptance and experience change and movement in fulfilling and positive ways. I am here to guide you on your journey of self-discovery whilst ensuring you feel seen, heard, and valued.

By forming a trusting therapeutic relationship, we will be able to explore, unpack, and integrate experiences that might be distressing or traumatic. Helping you have a clearer understanding of who you are and how you view your place in the world.

Training, qualifications & experience

My Journey:
I was drawn to pursuing therapy as a career path following my own struggle with abuse, identity and anxiety. I have sat in the client chair before and understand the apprehension and overwhelm you might feel when entering the therapeutic space for the first time. Through person-centred experiential learning, I have been able to connect closer to my true and authentic self and I hope to support my clients in doing so too. I hold a Masters in Person-Centred Experiential Counselling & Psychotherapy.

I have extensive experience in supporting those who are struggling with identity issues including racial, ethnic, and gender identity. My practice is culturally-aware, LGBTQ+ friendly and affirming, and trauma-informed.

I specialise in offering therapy to those struggling with:

  • Racial and Ethnic Identity
  • Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation
  • Anxiety
  • Low Mood/Depression
  • Relationship Issues
  • Domestic Violence/Intimate Partner Violence
  • Sexual Violence/Assault
  • Stress
  • Low Self-Esteem and Self-Worth
  • Abuse (sexual, emotional, financial, psychological)
  • Trauma
  • Self-Harm
  • Critical Self-Talk

My approach to therapy is open to anyone who is wishing to dedicate time to a deeper understanding of themselves and the thoughts, behaviours, and feelings that are impacting their well-being.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
