About me
I understand that reaching out for counselling can feel daunting, and you don't need to have everything figured out before you begin. Sometimes, simply showing up is a great start to therapy. From there, we can work things out together, at a pace that feels right for you.
I believe that feeling truly seen and heard can make a meaningful difference to how comfortable and safe we feel when talking about the things that matter to us. My aim is to provide a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can be yourself, explore what you are experiencing, and feel accepted for who you are, however you show up.
As an integrative counsellor, I believe therapy should be shaped around you rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. I will work collaboratively with you to understand your experiences, explore what may be affecting you, and support you in making sense of your thoughts and feelings.
Whether you are struggling with something specific or simply feel that things aren't quite right, you are welcome to bring whatever feels important to you. There is no expectation to have the “right” words or to know exactly where to begin. This is your space, and my role is to meet you where you are, listen without judgement, and support you as we work together.
My counselling service is currently offered entirely online, allowing you to access support from a space that feels comfortable and familiar to you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have undertaken five years of study and training in counselling, culminating in a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. My training has provided me with a broad understanding of different therapeutic approaches, allowing me to work integratively and adapt the way I work to meet each individual’s needs.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and have been practising as a counsellor since June 2024. During this time, I have gained experience supporting clients with a wide range of difficulties and life experiences, including chronic illness, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, stress, abuse, trauma, and issues with confidence and self-esteem.
My experience has allowed me to work with people from a variety of backgrounds and with different reasons for seeking counselling. I understand that no two people experience difficulties in exactly the same way, and I therefore aim to approach each client as an individual, working collaboratively and at a pace that feels right for them.
I am committed to continuing my professional development and to developing my knowledge and skills so that I can provide safe, ethical and effective support to the people I work with.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
