About me

I am an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor trained in Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approaches.

I offer prospective and existing clients a safe, supportive, non-judgmental, compassionate space to explore and process their experiences. Forming and maintaining a stable therapeutic relationship is essential to me, as this creates the foundation for our work together. I appreciate the strength and courage it takes to start counselling and how scary this can feel, so I emphasise the word together.

I offer short-term and long-term counselling from my private practice in Wymondham; Sessions can be face to face or online. The length of counselling is individual to you and your needs, and this is something we can discuss during your initial assessment. We will also have reviews throughout your time in counselling; during this, we can discuss any changes there may be around this. I also want to highlight that you can choose to stop counselling at any point.

Counselling offers support in many different areas, so it is essential your prospective counsellor can support you. I appreciate that there may be one thing or more that you would like to explore. Very often, emotions from different experiences can all intertwine. Below, I have listed some areas where I can offer my support. You may find that one or more of these resonate with you; however, there may be other areas you wish to discuss. Please don't hesitate to contact me regarding them, and we can discuss these together to see if I can support you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a BSc (Hons) in Integrative Counselling. I am a registered member of the MBACP, and I abide by their code of ethics. I regularly attend CPD (continuing professional development) events to ensure my knowledge and skills are in keeping with present counselling theories and practice.

Aside from my private practice, I have worked in various mental health settings for over seven years. I have also volunteered for different counselling organisations/charities.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
