About me

Hello, and welcome.

I am a fully qualified counsellor with a First-Class BA (Hons) degree in Counselling and Therapeutic Practice. I offer a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever is bringing you to counselling at your own pace.

My approach is integrative, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. This allows me to tailor our work to your individual needs, helping you gain insight into your experiences, develop practical coping strategies, and create meaningful change in your life.

I have a particular interest and specialism in bereavement and grief. Loss can affect us in many different ways, whether through the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, changes in health, or other significant life transitions. I understand that grief is deeply personal, and I provide a supportive space where you can process your emotions without pressure or expectation.

Alongside my professional training, I bring lived experience of depression, anxiety, and grief. Having navigated my own challenges, I understand how overwhelming it can feel to struggle emotionally and how difficult it can be to reach out for support. While your experience will always remain unique to you, my personal understanding helps me offer empathy, authenticity, and genuine compassion in our work together.

I work with adults and children experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship issues, stress, life transitions, and loss. Whether you are facing a specific challenge or simply feeling stuck, counselling can provide an opportunity to better understand yourself and move towards a more fulfilling and balanced life. Seeking support can be one of the hardest steps to take, but you do not have to face things alone. I am committed to providing a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered. I look forward to supporting you on your journey.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • First-Class BA (Hons) in Counselling and Therapeutic Practice
  • Trained in Integrative Counselling, incorporating CBT, Person-Centred, and
  • Psychodynamic approaches
  • Ongoing commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to ensure best practice and up-to-date therapeutic knowledge

Alongside my counselling training and practice, I have over 15 years of experience supporting individuals with autism and learning disabilities in a variety of settings. This experience has enabled me to develop a deep understanding of the unique challenges people can face and the importance of providing compassionate, person-centred support tailored to individual needs.

I currently volunteer as a Bereavement Counsellor, supporting individuals who are navigating grief, loss, and life-changing transitions. This role has strengthened my understanding of the many ways loss can affect emotional wellbeing and reinforced my commitment to offering a safe, empathetic space where clients feel heard and understood.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This gives us an opportunity to discuss what has brought you to counselling, explore how I may be able to support you, and answer any questions you may have before committing to therapy.

Sessions are payable in advance by bank transfer.

Reduced-fee spaces may be available for students, trainees, or individuals experiencing financial hardship. Please feel free to enquire about current availability.
