Integrative Therapist MBACP

About me

About me

I am an Integrative Therapist combining a blend of approaches and techniques tailored to your unique needs.  My integrative approach is largely informed by psychodynamic theory but I also integrate other theories such as person-centred, transactional analysis and cognitive behavioural theory.

This flexible and non-prescriptive framework allows us to explore and understand your underlying pattern of being in the world, how your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and patterns of behaviour shaped by past experiences impact you in the way you relate to yourself and others in the present.

My approach

My approach is very much a collaborative experience with the quality of our relationship at its heart. I provide an environment that is supportive, secure and contained for you to feel safe enough to explore and make sense of your experiences and internal world to achieve insight, awareness, growth and a deeper understanding of your experience and personal journey.

What problems can I help support you with?

With years of experience working privately, and with both Mind and Cruse Bereavement Care, my focus is on supporting individuals with anxiety, depression, life pressures, work conflicts, relationship problems, trauma, loss and bereavement, and building self-worth.

There are many ways our mental health can be affected. I offer a safe and non-judgemental space for you to explore your unique inner world, to process your feelings and for you to take the steps necessary to get to the root of what you have been struggling with.

I believe that therapy is essentially a transformative journey of discovery aimed at bringing about positive change and clarity into your life. It’s about exploring and understanding the complexities of your experiences.

What to expect from our first session?

Our first session is an opportunity for me to gain a deeper understanding of your challenges, goals and expectations, while also providing the opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about my approach and the therapeutic process.  It is also an opportunity for us to discuss how we will work together, such as the frequency and duration of our sessions, what happens when sessions are missed and any other practical matters. Setting clear expectations from the start helps us create a sense of structure, stability and containment on our journey together through therapy.

I offer both open ended and short term therapy, face to face or online.

Sessions are weekly and each session lasts 50 minutes.

I have premises in both Finchley and Holborn.

Training, qualifications & experience

I’m a fully qualified Integrative Therapist affiliated with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP - Registration number 395884).  I have an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling and I am also qualified as a specialised Bereavement Support Counsellor.

Along with my private practice, I am actively empowering individuals at Mind in Barnet, providing robust support and strategies to those experiencing depression and anxiety.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
