About me
Hello, my name is Rachel Roberts. I am an integrative counsellor and holistic therapist with over 20 years’ experience. supporting people in their healing and wellbeing.
My approach brings together counselling and an awareness of how the body holds emotions, helping you to explore your difficulties in a way that feels safe, gentle, and grounded.
I offer face to face in my clinic in Bideford or online in the comfort of your own home, where you can talk openly and be truly heard.
I also offer walk and talk sessions. Being nature and walking side by side can be an easier way to talk at the dame time benefitting from the fresh air and exercise. This requires a face to face session first.
Together we can explore the challenges you are facing and find ways forward that feel right for you.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to suit your individual needs. I work relationally, meaning that the therapeutic relationship itself is central to the process of healing and growth. I also have a strong interest in body psychotherapy and the mind–body connection, which can be particularly helpful if you feel emotions physically (such as tension, restlessness, or exhaustion).
Embodied Intergrative Therapy (EIT).
A relational approach to body–mind connection integrating body psychotherapy principles, somatic awareness, movement and therapeutic touch.
Supporting emotional wellbeing, trauma recovery and deeper self-connection.(please see my website page for more details)
I have experience working with:
- Relationship issues and family dynamics
- Anxiety and panic attacks
- Death anxiety, ageing, and life transitions
- Grief and bereavement
- Trauma and PTSD
- Stress and low self-esteem
- Addictions
Counselling sessions provide a confidential and supportive environment where you can bring whatever is on your mind. We may work with past experiences, present struggles, or hopes for the future. Sometimes the work is about gently untangling difficult emotions, and other times it’s about finding tools to cope day-to-day.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
