About me

Welcome to New Chapter Counselling & Psychotherapy.

There are many reasons why someone might decide to come to therapy. Perhaps you’re struggling with anxiety, finding relationships difficult, trying to make sense of past experiences, or going through a period of change. You might also be looking to understand yourself a little better, or simply feel that having someone to talk things through with could help.

I’m Rachel, a UKCP-accredited psychotherapeutic counsellor offering therapy in person from my private practice in Leigh Sinton, Malvern, and online.

I believe that our experiences, relationships and the environments we’ve grown up in can shape how we understand ourselves and relate to others. Sometimes we develop patterns of thinking, feeling or behaving that have helped us at different points in our lives, but may no longer feel helpful. I think therapy can offer an opportunity to explore these experiences, understand ourselves a little better and consider what we might want to change.

My approach is integrative, drawing on different therapeutic theories and ways of working rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. I work collaboratively, with warmth, compassion and curiosity, recognising that everyone brings their own experiences, perspectives and needs into the therapy room. For me, building a trusting therapeutic relationship is an important part of this process, and I want you to feel comfortable being yourself, without judgement or expectations about how you should think or feel.

I also recognise that we all experience and process the world differently. I welcome neurodiversity in my practice and am happy to explore creative adaptations and different ways of working to help make therapy more accessible and comfortable for you.

I offer in-person sessions from my private practice in Leigh Sinton, just outside Malvern, as well as online therapy. My practice provides a warm, comfortable and private space where we can meet away from the demands of everyday life, with convenient free parking just outside.

Finding a counsellor can feel a little daunting, particularly when there are so many people to choose from. I offer a free, no-obligation 15-minute call if you’d like to have an initial conversation and see how you feel, or you’re very welcome to book an initial session if you’d prefer.

Whether you decide to work with me or another counsellor, I wish you all the best as you take this next step.

Take care,

Rachel
