About me

I have availability for new clients.

My name is Rachael, and I am a qualified counsellor and registered member of the BACP. I have extensive experience specialising in grief, bereavement & experience in women's issues. I have worked with several problems such as anxiety, isolation, depression, family issues, self-identity, self-esteem and relationship issues. I offer a non-judgemental, safe space to create trust in helping you to share your thoughts, feelings and experiences that you have had in your life that you're finding difficult to process.

Well done for taking the first step to look for some help. It can be difficult looking through the profiles and trying to find the right therapist. Sometimes we find it difficult to speak to friends and family, we don't want to upset or worry them, sometimes we feel we have no one to speak to. In counselling I can help you with offloading your thoughts and feelings and giving you a confidential space. The therapy I offer is centred around working through your experiences, looking at how they have impacted your sense of self and present life.

I work in a way that is tailored to you, I believe a no size fits all approach. Counselling will be at your own pace.
I am currently an IAPT trainee working towards the Person-Centred Experiential counselling for Depression qualification. This is an evidence-based, NICE recommended, psychological therapy for depression within the NHS.

Please note, if booking an introduction call your time may not always be available. Please wait for confirmation first.

Telephone & Online £45 per session.

In person £50 per session.

Trainee Counsellors £35 per session.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
