About me
Choosing the right counsellor is an important step in your healing journey. It’s natural to want to feel comfortable, understood, and safe before beginning therapy.
That’s why I offer a 30-minute “Get to Know Me” session - a relaxed space for us to meet, talk about what brings you here, and see how we might work together.
As a trauma-informed counsellor, my approach is grounded in compassion, understanding, and respect for your pace and experiences. This time is for you to ask questions, share what feels comfortable, and get a sense of whether my style feels like the right fit for your needs.
There’s no pressure to commit - just an opportunity to connect and explore whether this feels like a supportive next step for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have completed extensive training and qualifications in counselling and mental health support, including Levels 2, 3, 4, and 5 in Counselling Skills, with additional specialist training in Trauma-Informed Practice, safeguarding, suicide prevention, and online and telephone counselling. My experience includes working within private practice, voluntary counselling services, mental health support roles, and crisis intervention settings, where I have provided emotional and therapeutic support to individuals facing a wide range of personal and psychological challenges. Through my work with clients in both face-to-face and online environments, I have developed strong communication, active listening, safeguarding, and interpersonal skills, alongside the ability to build trusting professional relationships in sensitive situations. I am skilled in Person-Centred Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, with a compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgemental approach to supporting emotional wellbeing and personal growth. My background has also strengthened my problem-solving, critical thinking, welfare support, and group facilitation abilities, while reinforcing my commitment to ethical practice, continuous professional development, and delivering high-quality client-focused support.

Taking the first step towards therapy can often feel overwhelming, but I aim to provide a warm, safe, and confidential space where clients feel heard, supported, and understood without judgement. I work using a compassionate and person-centred approach, tailoring therapy to each individual’s needs while integrating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and trauma-informed practice where appropriate. I have experience supporting clients with a range of emotional and mental health challenges, including trauma, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, grief, and emotional well-being. My background in counselling, crisis support, safeguarding, and emotional welfare has helped me develop strong communication, active listening, and therapeutic skills, allowing me to build trusting and supportive relationships with clients both face-to-face and online. I am passionate about helping people develop emotional resilience, self-awareness, and confidence, empowering them to make positive and lasting changes at a pace that feels right for them.
