About me

Perhaps you feel overwhelmed by your emotions, misunderstood by others, or exhausted from constantly holding things together internally.

You may struggle with anxiety, relationship difficulties, rejection sensitivity, masking, burnout, or a sense that you don’t fully belong. Perhaps words feel difficult sometimes, or you find yourself deeply feeling things that others seem able to brush aside.

Therapy offers a space where you can begin to understand yourself more deeply, feel genuinely seen, and gently unfurl into greater self-acceptance and freedom.

I am an Integrative counsellor and psychotherapist which means I work using different theoretical approaches relevant to your needs, I can also work somatically or with creative resources if you are curious to explore a different approach.

Trust and relationship are key to enabling you to fully explore your inner world. Together we will create a space, to enable you to unfurl within. Do you feel anxious, receive criticism or rejection as a deeply wounding experience, feel constantly hypervigilant, that you don't fit in, that people don't understand you, or constantly masking? Have some understanding of self from previous therapy but still feel stuck. I am here to listen with open curiosity.

I have a diverse client base who come with a diverse range of matters. I typically work with anxiety, bereavement, complex grief, depression, narcissistic abuse, relationship challenges, identity challenges and emerging neurodivergent challenges. I have an interest in working with HSPs (Highly Sensitive Person) and those who have experienced therapy before.

I will always bring my true self to you consistently, with gentle empathic understanding. I will listen carefully with curiosity to your experiences of your world. I encourage you to explore whatever it is you choose to bring into the session whilst holding a confidential space which is judgement free and dedicated to your story and your needs.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an Integrative counsellor and psychotherapist which means I work using different theoretical approaches relevant to the needs of the person I am working. I also work somatically with trauma and know deeply how beneficial this approach can be, and as a qualified Breathwork Coach I can equip you with effective breathing techniques and strategies to manage and aid your own emotional self-regulation outside of the therapy room. Breathwork can be very effective for those who are neurodivergent, or otherwise anxious as well as those who have experienced trauma. I have lived experience of ADHD and ASD.

Clients typically come to see me when they are feeling depressed, highly anxious and overwhelmed and in a constant hypervigilant state of being. We work together to alleviate some of these symptoms initially then we are better placed to explore more deeply the underlaying concerns. I also see people who have experienced bereavement including those who feel stuck in their grief many years later.

I work with clients on a long-term basis but do offer short term counselling as well. I mostly work face to face with clients but do offer online sessions if preferred. I follow and work within the BACP Ethical framework.

I am continually learning new therapeutic skills to aid my private practice. I run a small practice and work with a small number of clients to ensure my practice is as effective as it can be for my clients.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

Finding the right therapist for you is so important to the effectiveness of the therapeutic relationship and the overall effectiveness of the work, I would therefore recommend you speak to a number of therapists for an initial chat so you can make an informed decision on who to go with.

I offer a no obligation complimentary consultation which typically lasts 30 to 40 minutes, here we can explore your therapy goals to see if we could be a good fit to work together, get in touch to book a session.

All sessions are 50 minutes in length, however, the first session is an hour long as we work through my assessment form which simply helps me better understand some key pieces of information about yourself, your current environment and the reasons for seeking out therapy.

I aim to respond to all messages within 24 hours of receipt Monday to Friday so if you have e-mailed me and not received a response within 24 hours, please do check your other folders as it may have landed in your spam or junk e-mail.

Currently my ‘low cost’ client slots are taken.
