Rachael Blackmore Dip. Couns MBACP
I understand that sometimes life feels hard. You might be going through some difficulty in a relationship, feel unhappy or stressed at work, or perhaps something from your past is affecting your life today.
Whatever it is, I provide a safe place in which you can talk things through with me in confidence and where you will be listened to with compassion, understanding and without judgement. I believe in the power of relationship: building a relationship with you where trust and acceptance facilitate open communication about the things that are troubling you.
I specialise in relationship issues but can work with you to explore any difficulty you might be facing.
I am committed to helping you explore your difficult thoughts and feelings to find a way to feel better and experience life differently. I will work at your pace and I offer short term and long term counselling.
I work from a comfortable room at Westgate House Gloucester. I am also available for video, telephone and online (instant messaging) counselling for individuals if you would prefer.
I am a highly experienced, qualified counsellor. Please visit rachaelblackmore.com/testimonials to read what other people have said about working with me.
Individual sessions last for 50 minutes; Couples sessions last 60 minutes.
I accept cash or electronic transfer. I'm sorry but I cannot accept card payments.
With a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, I work as an integrative therapist. This means I draw on the Person-Centred approach and use Psychodynamic theory to work collaboratively with you to improve your mental and emotional well-being.
I work with many issues, including marriage and relationship issues, affairs and betrayals, separation and divorce, anxiety and depression, panic disorder, low self esteem and self confidence, gender dysphoria, sexuality, career support and redundancy, stress, work related stress, infertility, and transgender issues.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
