About me
Hi, I am Polly.
If you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck in repeating patterns, or emotionally exhausted by life’s challenges, you do not have to navigate this heavy ground alone.
Often, the struggles we experience today, whether that is constant anxiety, a recent painful relationship breakdown, or a deep-seated sense of shame, are connected to experiences from our past. As a Psychodynamic therapist, I work with you to gently uncover the root causes of these emotional struggles and behavioural patterns.
How I Can Help You:
I have extensive experience supporting individuals through a wide range of challenges, with particular expertise in:
Trauma & Deep-Rooted Difficulties: Childhood and relational trauma, deep-seated guilt, shame, self-harm, and eating disorders. (Please note: I am currently expanding my specialization with advanced trauma-informed therapy training to further support how past trauma impacts your mind and body today).
Relationships & Life Transitions: Toxic or difficult breakups, complex family dynamics, loneliness, and navigating painful relationship patterns.
Mood, Self-Esteem, & Habits: Anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, breaking free from unhealthy habits, and overcoming a lack of motivation.
What to Expect in Our Sessions:
Therapy with me is a collaborative, down-to-earth process. I do not just sit in silence; I offer a warm, interactive, and deeply respectful space where you can safely unpack your thoughts without fear of judgment. We will work at a pace that feels entirely safe for you, tailoring our sessions to your unique needs and healing goals.
I provide a supportive, compassionate environment to help with transformative growth. I ensure that a safe nurturing environment is maintained to help navigate challenges you may be experiencing and create a non judgemental space to explore, reflect and to understand.
I prioritise building a trusting relationship based on confidentiality, empathy and respect. With the use of psychodynamic therapy and person centred therapy I help clients gain a better sense of self-awareness and insight into their emotional struggles and behavioural patterns.
I Recognise that taking the initial step to find a counsellor can feel daunting, I'm here to make the process as seamless as possible for you. Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
