About me
Hello, my name is Philippa. I'm a qualified & experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor, supporting adults, children and teenagers. I provide a calm, confidential, safe space where I can support you (or your child) with a range of presenting issues.
As an adult you may be feeling overwhelmed with life's challenges, unable to cope with something or stuck and unable to move forwards. It could be you are experiencing difficulties in your relationships, either with others around you or with yourself. Maybe you are struggling with anxiety, depression, low self esteem or confidence concerns. You may need space to process and be supported through a loss and be looking for a space to process the grief you may be experiencing.
Work with children and teens (4-18) includes supporting those experiencing anxiety and low mood, difficulties at school, friendship issues, the impact of bullying or family relationship difficulties. Sessions with children and teens often include creative activities to support the therapeutic process, such as art, clay, sand tray, others prefer a confidential space to just talk and be heard.
Seeking support when your life feels tough is a positive step and I know it can be hard, especially if you have not accessed counselling support before. I will support you by providing the time & space needed to explore thoughts, feelings and behaviours, root causes and strategies to better cope with whatever is causing you distress, anxiety or sadness.
I am an integrative counselling, meaning I draw on many therapies and approaches to ensure your counselling experience with me, meets your exact needs. I work in the peaceful & comfortable surroundings of The Counselling & Wellbeing Space in Wetherby.
I offer a free 20-minute introductory call without obligation where you can find out a little more about me and how I work and decide if I will be a good fit for what you looking for. I look forward to hearing from you & supporting you on your counselling journey.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
