About me

Integrative Counselling/Psychotherapy & EMDR Therapy

As a Counsellor/Psychotherapist & EMDR therapist, I offer a warm, safe and non-judgmental space where someone can express what is happening in their lives and explore what troubles them. I support people to find their understanding of what is happening to them and find ways to cope with difficult times, often leading to positive changes and finding new qualities and strengths.

I work integratively, using humanistic, Person-Centred values underpinning my counselling practice, making sure I adjust my methods and therapeutic modalities accordingly to the person's needs, beliefs and values.

As a therapist I provide a therapeutic space where the client feels fully accepted, which facilitates finding a space within themselves to hear their own voice, leading to personal growth and empowerment. Through the counselling process, the client is on their unique and intimate journey, not only to move on with their lives but also to reconnect with their own values system.

I refrain from using labels and diagnosing, however, I acknowledge and respect the insight and information stemming from the diagnosis.

I offer a wide range of interventions, flexibility and an integrative style of working combining: EMDR, CBT, CFT, ACT, DBT skills, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Life & Career Coaching,  elements of Schema Therapy, Gestalt therapy, play & art/creative methods. I am also interested in motivational interviewing, positive psychology and holistic, spiritual therapy (mind body soul), systemic therapy, and mindfulness/meditation.

I have a work experience as a visiting lecturer and an academic researcher. I enjoy studying and working with students, trainee counsellors and people with chronic health conditions like cancer and chronic pain. My other field of expertise is working therapeutically with Clients with neurodiversity and Learning Difficulties.

Training, qualifications & experience

I completed an MSc at the University of East London (MSc in Applied Psychology) in 2015 and I continued my education at the London Metropolitan University where I was awarded the MSc in Psychological Therapies in 2019.

I completed the taught component of the Prof Doc studies (Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology) at London Metropolitan University and left during the final thesis write-up as discovered that my biggest passion is working with clients rather than academic titles.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a graduate member of the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS), currently finalising my National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) accreditation.

I have been working for the NHS since 2008, as well as for charity organisations and in my private practice in West London.

I have also worked as a visiting lecturer, researcher, mentor, coach and peer supporter for students, trainee counsellors, LGBTQ+ clients, oncology patients, women surviving domestic abuse, clients with learning difficulties and neuro-diversity.

The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
