About me
Hi, I’m Paula, and I’m glad you found my page.
Sometimes life can feel difficult, overwhelming, or uncertain. You may be carrying worries, feeling anxious, struggling with relationships, or simply sensing that something isn’t quite right. I offer a warm, confidential, and non judgemental space where you can talk openly about what’s going on for you, at your own pace. Together, we can explore your experiences, help you make sense of your feelings, and support you in finding a way forward. Please get in touch if you'd like to arrange an initial conversation.
What I can help with
I’m a person centred, integrative counsellor and support people experiencing stress, anxiety, low mood, self-esteem issues, burnout, trauma, bereavement and other significant life changes.
Relationships and loss are at the heart of my practice, helping people navigate the emotional struggles that can arise when things don't go as planned. Whether you’re facing challenges in your intimate partnership, family dynamics, or friendships, I am here to help you make sense of what is happening, explore the emotional impact and find a way forward. Some of these issues can lead to feelings of guilt, shame and anger, leading to poor communication and boundaries.
I’m an experienced bereavement counsellor helping people navigate loss and grief, which can show up in many ways, sometimes seen, sometimes felt quietly, but it can still impact on how we feel and cope day to day. I have worked alongside a bereavement charity as a volunteer for many years, giving me valuable experience to support my clients with warmth, compassion and understanding.
Many people experience difficult thoughts and feelings at times, but you don’t have to face them by yourself - I’m here to listen and support you.
My approach to counselling
You may come to counselling feeling stuck and unsure how to move forward and some people don’t know exactly what’s causing their distress, which is completely normal. This is where I can help.
My hope is to provide a space where you feel safe enough to say things out loud, even the messy, distressing, confusing and painful parts. Together, we can navigate whatever feels most important to you, whether that is your sense of self, your relationships, or the impact of stress, overwhelm and life experiences including anything from your past or present that feels relevant to you.
This might include:
- Increasing self awareness
- Identifying patterns that contribute to distress
- Finding practical ways to manage stress and overwhelm
- Strengthening self esteem and confidence
- Exploring and improving relationships
- Navigating life’s changes and challenges
- or simply allowing space for you to give voice to your concerns
I’m an experienced, BACP registered Person Centred counsellor and will wholeheartedly offer a safe, confidential and warm environment where you feel truly heard, in an empathetic, confidential and non judgemental way. I welcome all that you bring with respect and acceptance.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
