About me
I'm a qualified integrative-trained counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).
I understand that seeking therapy can feel like a big step—whether you're feeling overwhelmed, struggling with anxiety or depression, or simply unsure of how to move forward. Perhaps you're carrying the weight of past experiences, facing difficult life transitions, or battling self-doubt that holds you back. Whatever you’re going through, you don’t have to face it alone.
At Oakwood Counselling & Wellbeing, I work as an integrative therapist, which means I don’t believe in a “one-size-fits-all” approach. Instead, I draw from a range of evidence-based therapies to tailor each session to your unique needs, challenges, and goals. Therapy should feel personal, supportive, and effective—helping you not just to cope, but to heal, grow, and thrive.
A Safe, Non-Judgmental Space Just for You
I offer a warm, compassionate space where you can express yourself freely, without fear of judgment. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling lost, stuck, or unsure of what’s wrong—they just know that something doesn’t feel right. Whether you need clarity, emotional support, or practical tools to manage daily struggles, we will work together at a pace that feels right for you.
Therapeutic Approaches I Use
🔹 Person-Centred Therapy – You are the expert in your own life. This approach ensures that therapy is guided by your needs, emotions, and experiences, with me offering support, insight, and encouragement along the way.
🔹 Transactional Analysis (TA) – Have you ever found yourself repeating the same patterns in relationships or struggling with inner conflicts? TA helps you understand the roles you play in interactions, empowering you to break free from unhelpful cycles and communicate more effectively.
🔹 Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-Informed Techniques) – If negative thoughts and overwhelming emotions are holding you back, CBT-based strategies and tools can help you identify and change unhelpful thinking patterns, making everyday challenges feel more manageable.
🔹 Psychodynamic & Inner Work – Sometimes, the difficulties we face in the present are rooted in past experiences. This approach helps us uncover deeper emotional patterns and explore how your past might be influencing your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours today.
🔹 Mindfulness & Holistic Wellbeing – For those struggling with stress, anxiety, or emotional overwhelm, integrating mindfulness techniques can help you find balance, reduce stress, and feel more in control of your emotions.
This flexible framework allows me to adapt each session to your present state, helping you achieve clarity, emotional balance, and practical coping skills. Through our work together, we’ll address the internal and external factors contributing to your current experience, empowering you with the tools to overcome negative patterns, manage stress and anxiety, and restore a sense of purpose and identity.
Understanding Your Struggles – You're Not Alone
I know that everyone’s journey is different, and there is no “right” or “wrong” reason to seek therapy. You might be experiencing:
✔ Anxiety & Overwhelm – Feeling constantly on edge, overthinking, or struggling to relax.
✔ Low Self-Esteem & Confidence Issues – Battling self-doubt, people-pleasing, or a harsh inner critic.
✔ Relationship Challenges – Struggling with communication, trust issues, or repeating unhealthy relationship patterns.
✔ Stress & Burnout – Feeling mentally exhausted, overworked, or emotionally drained.
✔ Grief & Loss – Coping with bereavement, breakups, or other significant life changes.
✔ Trauma & Difficult Past Experiences – Feeling stuck due to painful memories or past events that continue to affect you.
✔ Feeling Lost or Disconnected – Unsure of your purpose, struggling with motivation, or feeling like something is missing in life.
Whatever is bringing you to therapy, you are welcome here.
Your Therapy, Your Journey
Therapy is not about “fixing” you—you aren't broken! It’s about giving you the space, tools, and self-awareness to understand yourself more deeply, develop emotional resilience, and create positive changes in your life.
Each of our sessions is collaborative and tailored to your needs. Some people come to therapy looking for structured strategies, while others need a space to explore their emotions freely. Whether you’re seeking short-term support for a specific challenge or longer-term therapy for deeper self-exploration, I will work with you in a way that feels comfortable, respectful, and empowering.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
