About me
Hello Pat here! Are you feeling anxious, stressed, depressed, perhaps have low self-confidence, or maybe a past traumatic event is still troubling you, or is it something else? Is your sleep, work, health, friendships and family life suffering as a result of what's bothering you? Do you feel no one understands you, leaving you lonely, stuck, confused, filled with self-doubt, and not living your life to the fullest?
Counselling helped me overcome some of these challenges; it could help you too!
If you feel we might be the right fit for each other, I am offering you a friendly, safe, confidential, non-threatening, compassionate and non-judgemental space to talk and work through your thoughts and whatever is troubling you and, alongside you, at your own pace, guide you towards a more balanced, happier way of living, helping you achieve your preferred goals to become who you want to be or at least view your concerns from a more balanced perspective!
I am a mature, qualified, integrative, trauma-informed counsellor with experience counselling adult clients in a Crisis Intervention/Mental Health Hub and a busy Health Centre.
I also have many years of experience in the NHS as a nurse and community health practitioner, working with diverse client groups and their families to help them navigate life's difficulties.
Believing each of us is unique and that one size does not fit all, as an integrative, trauma-informed counsellor, I will blend tried-and-tested methods such as Person-Centred, CBT, and Psychodynamic techniques, and, where necessary, use researched trauma models. I will also incorporate a holistic approach that considers mind, body, and spirit to support your counselling journey.
My belief is that at the heart of healing is a genuine human-human relationship, and our counselling work together will be based on this principle
Counselling sessions are 50-60 minutes long and are offered in person, by telephone, or online.
In-person sessions are held in a country setting with private/off-street parking or in a purpose-built building close to Ballymena town.
I offer a free, no-obligation 15-minute phone call or a follow-up email, giving you the opportunity to briefly outline your reasons for seeking counselling, ask about my approach and how we may work together, and consider whether we are the right fit for each other.
To make an enquiry, phone me on 07546 075205 or Email:talkitthrucounselling@gmail.com

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
