Do you want to talk about the big stuff? Does it feel like it’s too big sometimes, and that it’ll make the people around you treat you differently? Does sharing those parts of yourself feel like they’re a ‘burden’ to others? Do you feel like you’ve been punished just for being yourself?
I’m not scared of the big stuff. It deserves time, attention, and respect, just like you. I want to be gentle with whatever process you are going through. I don’t know if you’re like me yet, but I’ve had enough of the world’s unkindness.
I want to listen to your experience of life so that we can both develop a greater understanding of you, and how to navigate the world with self-compassion. I offer person-centred, trauma and addiction focused therapy. I work closely with your process, your language, to build a solid a consistent relationship with you that serves your growth and healing.
You don't have to do all this alone. You deserve to be heard. I'm ready to listen and understand deeply. I offer free 15 minute introductory sessions online to give you the chance to say hello and ask any questions before deciding to work with me. If you decide you want to work with me, I typically offer 1 hour online sessions weekly. I also offer phone sessions.
My availability is daytime Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
Training, qualifications & experience
I completed my counselling training (PGDip) with Persona Counselling accredited by Aberdeen University covering various aspects of CPD such as suicide, race, class, sexuality and gender, addiction, and trauma.
I have been working a voluntary and session counsellor with a number of services with Crossreach in Edinburgh since 2019 as well as Stepping Stones in the South East of England since 2020. The majority of this work has focussed on topics such as burnout, coping with emotion in the work place, and trauma.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
