About me
Choosing a therapist can be daunting. As a psychologist, I can help you make sense of your thoughts, feelings and experiences, and help you develop a better understanding of your self and your relationship with others. I am really interested in improving one’s quality of life and I can help you work towards your goals whatever challenging you have, or continue to experience.
I have over 20 years experience of working with adults across neurological, chronic pain and mental health services within the NHS. I am experienced in working with all mental health diagnoses, childhood trauma and neurodivergence such as ADHD and ASD.
I am fully trained as a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and can offer a wide range of evidence based therapies. I don’t find one model fits all and if we worked together I would like to want to understand your individual needs, interests and goals for therapy and then tailor my approach accordingly. I tend to use an integrative approach, drawing upon various theoretical models to help clients get the best experience and outcome from therapy.
Therapy might be helpful for you if are interested in understanding yourself better; this might include wanting to make sense of repeated patterns or areas of your life where you feel stuck; or you might want help to improve your mood such and feeling anxious or depressed. You may strive to have better or healthier relationships, be more assertive or confident, improve symptoms, or have other goals you want to work on and achieve.
The therapeutic relationship is very important in facilitating a meaningful therapy and facilitating change; this can take some time to build but if you would like to have an initial consultation to meet and see if we could work well together then I am very happy to offer you an initial 15-20mins free consultation.
