About me

My work is often to help people develop a better understanding of themselves, which in turn can help improve relationships and how they feel. I have worked in the NHS for over 16 years as a qualified psychologist and have a lot of experience working with a wide range of mental health difficulties. I also work with long term conditions including chronic pain and a range of physical health conditions. My practice is based in Smeeth, Ashford and I offer evidence based therapy to adults.

I don’t find one model fits all and therefore adopt an integrative approach to my work. I like to get to know someone, their individual needs, interests and goals for therapy and tailor my approach accordingly.

I draw upon Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Psychodynamic therapy. I am also fully trained and accredited in Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).

If you are considering therapy or are interested in understanding yourself better, which might include making sense of repeated patterns, areas of your life where you feel stuck, improving your mood, having better relationships, being more assertive or confident, therapy could be helpful.

The therapeutic relationship is very important. If you like to know more about the approach I could offer and see if I could be a good fit, I am very happy to offer you an initial 15 mins free consultation.
