About me
My work centres around helping people develop a better understanding of themselves, this can help improve ones relationship with self and others.
I have worked in the NHS for over 16 years as a qualified Counselling Psychologist and have a lot of experience working with a wide range of mental health difficulties and long term conditions including chronic pain.
I don’t find one model fits all and therefore adopt an integrative approach to my work. I would like to get to know you, your individual needs, interests and goals for therapy and tailor my approach accordingly.
I offer evidenced based therapy and drawn upon Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Psychodynamic psychotherapy therapy. I am also fully trained and accredited in Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).
If you are considering therapy or are interested in understanding yourself better, which might include making sense of repeated unhelpful patterns or areas of your life where you feel stuck, or are interested in improving your mood and/or relationships, being more assertive or confident in your identity and ability then therapy could be helpful.
The therapeutic relationship is very important. If you would like to know more about my approach and see if I could be a good fit for what you are looking for, I am very happy to offer you an initial 15-20mins free consultation. My practice is based in Smeeth, Ashford and I can see you face to face or online.
