About me
I'm an experienced clinical psychologist specialising in working with adults who want to address conditions like anxiety and depression. I qualified in 2007 and have worked in both the NHS and private sector supporting people to live their best possible lives.
I work in an integrative way. I am particularly interested in cognitive behavioural therapies (CBT), especially acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I also find compassion focused therapy (CFT) and eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing therapy (EMDR) very helpful for my clients.
I am able to offer some reduced fee sessions. Please contact me for further details.
Training, qualifications & experience
I obtained a doctorate in clinical psychology from University College London in 2007.
I have postgraduate diplomas in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) from Kings College London and clinical neuropsychology from Bristol University.
My first degree was in experimental psychology from Oxford University.
Since qualifying, I have worked in primary and secondary care adult mental health services; community neurorehabilitation an diagnostic neuropsychology services.

British Psychological Society

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

Further information
Currently, I only offer private sessions remotely via Zoom and/or a platform called Bilateral Base that is used for EMDR. I send my clients a link (they don't need to pay for either of these platforms themselves).
After an assessment phase, my work weaves between a top down and bottom up approach, addressing symptoms in the present while resolving difficulties that may be stuck in an individual's nervous system from the past. I find EMDR a particularly helpful way to support clients to address blocks from the past that are impeding their ability to be present to their potential and move forwards in their lives optimally.
