About me

Life's challenges can feel overwhelming at times, but you don't have to face them alone. Therapy offers an opportunity to have someone by your side as you find a way through the difficulties you're experiencing, and come out the other side with increased self-awareness and a sense of renewed purpose.

My approach is rooted in compassion and collaboration, as we work at your pace to explore whatever you wish to bring. I will inquire - and, at times, gently challenge - from a place of genuine empathy and care, and together we can work to make sense of your experience.

I work with a wide range of issues, including abuse, ADHD, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, childhood emotional neglect, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, sexual abuse, stress and burnout, trauma, and workplace issues.

I work integratively and am trained in a number of different modalities, including: Psychodynamic, Somatic/Body Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I believe that everyone is unique, and I adapt my work accordingly.

My specialist areas are anxiety disorders, developmental or complex trauma (CPTSD), and attachment issues, and I draw on a knowledge of neurobiology for this work. I incorporate somatic techniques as a way to release trauma in the body.

Prior to working as a therapist, I worked in journalism and travelled widely as part of my job. I have a deep and genuine curiosity in the experiences of people from all backgrounds and cultures, and value difference and diversity.

I offer in-person sessions in North London (Islington) and East London (Haggerston/Dalston), as well as online.

Please email me to book a free introductory 20-minute call to see if we're the right fit.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a registered member of the British Association of Psychotherapists and Counselling (BACP). I hold a PG Dip Advanced in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling from CPPD Counselling School and an undergraduate degree from the University of Nottingham.

I have additional training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and somatic (body-based) therapies.

I am bound by the BACP’s Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am committed to personal and professional development and am an ardent advocate of lifelong learning.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
