About me

Life can feel overwhelming at times - but you don’t have to go through it alone. Therapy offers an opportunity to have someone by your side as you explore what’s going on beneath the surface, and move toward greater self-understanding and a sense of renewed purpose.

I work with people navigating anxiety, depression, and the longer effects of difficult early experiences - including complex and developmental trauma, attachment wounds, and childhood emotional neglect. Many of the people I work with have tried to understand themselves for some time - sometimes in previous therapy, sometimes on their own. They’re thoughtful, often self-aware, and yet something may not have shifted in the way they want.

I also support people navigating other issues, including but not limited to: ADHD, bereavement and loss, stress and burnout, life transitions, fertility-related issues, PMDD, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, and workplace issues.

My approach draws on psychodynamic thinking, Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic methods, and insights from neuroscience and attachment theory. In practice, this means we work with more than just your thoughts - including the parts of you that protect, shut down, or have been managing things for years.

My approach is rooted in compassion and collaboration, as we work at your pace to explore whatever you wish to bring. I will inquire - and, at times, gently challenge - from a place of genuine empathy and care, and together we can work to make sense of your experience.

Before retraining as a therapist, I spent fifteen years as a journalist, mostly working in foreign news at the BBC. I bring from that work a deep respect for complexity, for individual stories, and a commitment to inclusivity and difference.

I work from a clinic in Islington, North London, and online.

Couples Therapy

I also offer relationship therapy to couples or intimate partners who feel stuck in unhelpful patterns or are wanting to strengthen and deepen their relationship. My trauma-informed, IFS-informed approach helps each partner understand the protective parts that arise in moments of stress, so that conflict becomes something you can navigate together rather than something that pulls you apart. I aim to create a space where both people feel heard, respected, and supported in building greater emotional safety and connection.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
