About me
You may be facing a crisis or a loss, struggling with the impact of trauma or navigating difficult relationships. Maybe you feel things aren’t quite right in your life and don’t know how to move forward. Facing these challenges alone can feel overwhelming and isolating. I offer a warm and non-judgemental space where you can express what is troubling you, gain greater self-understanding and find more satisfying ways to manage your difficulties.
My approach
I approach therapy as a dialogue focused on the issues that matter to you, at your own pace. I won’t tell you what to do, but I will give you my full attention and presence, invite you to reflect and offer another perspective with curiosity and empathy. Clients describe me as calm, honest and supportive.
As an integrative therapist, I draw on a range of approaches to meet your unique needs and goals. We may explore links between your childhood experiences and how you feel about yourself and others in the present. Reflecting on these patterns in a safe and trusting therapeutic space will help you understand yourself better and make choices with more freedom and clarity.
Above all, I aim to provide a relationship where you feel heard, supported and understood, allowing you to safely express all aspects of yourself. I believe this can be truly transformative, helping you feel more comfortable in who you are while opening up new perspectives and possibilities.
Next steps
If you feel I may be the right person to support you, the next step would be to arrange an initial consultation to explore whether we're a good fit. I also offer a free 15-minutes introductory call, which you can book via Counselling Directory or by emailing me.
During the initial consultation, we will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your expectations, and how we might work together. This is an opportunity for you to experience what it's like to work together, with no obligation to commit to further sessions.
To arrange an introductory call or initial consultation, feel free to reach out via email or text message, and I will get back to you within 48 hours.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy from the Metanoia Institute. I have supported clients with a range of issues, and my background includes working in a specialist bereavement service and for a charity supporting adult survivors of childhood abuse. My practice is trauma-informed, acknowledging how adversity in many forms can affect both the mind and body, and placing safety and collaboration at the heart of therapy.
In addition, I have carried out further training in the following areas:
- Trauma-informed practice
- Working with eating disorders
- Neurodivergent experience of bereavement and loss
- Trauma and bereavement
- Working with dissociation
- Working with male survivors of sexual abuse
Originally from Belgium, I have lived in the UK for 20 years. I’m sensitive to the unique challenges of navigating different cultures, identities and languages, and have worked with clients from a range of cultural backgrounds. Although I mostly work in English, I welcome French-speaking clients who would like to express themselves in their native language.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
