About me

Counselling Changes ... I am an experienced qualified therapist working with a wide range of issues including anxiety , depression , relationship issues , addiction and bereavement.

There are times when family or friends can no longer comfort or support us , the GP surgery is always busy and yet we are left with fear and anxiety that can impact on our thoughts and behaviours , you may notice your anxiety elevates depression ,leaving you feeling constantly fatigued, in turn this may impact on relationships and you feel you are reaching a crisis point . The crisis point can lead to unhealthy behaviours , this can include eating disorders ,excessive alcohol use , substance misuse , gambling, the fixes might feel as if  they are reducing unpleasant symptoms,  but more often self doubt returns.

I understand contacting a counsellor might be overwhelming. I would like to offer reassurance . I have practiced as qualified counsellor for over a decade - and worked for twenty years in the social care sector . I am deeply committed to the service I offer , and the people I work with. I value how counselling can help us see things with a deeper understanding. I offer each client my full respect while staying with their process , acknowledging discomfort while accessing painful thoughts / memories.

Regardless of age , gender or financial position each of us will be presented with life challenges that can often be overwhelming . It is my belief should we want to make changes , then by looking at the things that make us unhappy, or uncomfortable is the first step to releasing our authentic self.

My life experience has taught me that sensitive topics-  however disconcerting loose their toxicity once acknowledged . I believe if sensitive issues are hidden they can have a negative impact-  on both our physical and mental health . It is not uncommon for people to believe they cannot share their experience's for fear of being judged . As a counsellor I work to move away from limiting language and judgements that can trap us in our negative thought processes. Counselling can offer the opportunity to release the  past - enabling a future filled with hope .

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
