About me

Counselling Changes ... I am an experienced qualified therapist working with a wide range of issues from anxiety , depression , relationship issues , and bereavement. I work with individuals and couples .

There are times when family or friends can no longer comfort or support us , the GP surgery is always busy and yet we are left with fear and anxiety that can impact on our thoughts and behaviours , you may notice your anxiety elevates depression ,leaving you feeling constantly fatigued, in turn this may impact on relationships and you feel you are reaching a crisis point , our crisis point can lead to unhealthy life style choices eating disorders ,alcohol , substance misuse , gambling, any number of fixes might help on short term basis , but more often self doubt returns.

I respect making the decision to contact a counsellor can be overwhelming. I would like to offer some reassurance , I have twelve years experience as a qualified counsellor , and worked for twenty years in the social care sector . I am deeply committed to the service I offer , and the people I work with. I highly value how counselling can help us see things with a deeper sense of clarity. I offer each client my full respect while staying with their process , acknowledging their discomfort , in addition to their strengths and resilience.

Regardless of age , gender or financial position each of us will be presented with life challenges that can often be overwhelming . It is my belief should we want to make changes , then by looking at the things that make us unhappy, or uncomfortable , we can then decide how to manage and move towards our goals and aspirations

Change takes courage and this might seem unachievable , however by taking small steps you can begin to unlock thoughts or feelings that have prevented you reaching your potential .Should you choose for us to work together I offer an environment where you have the space and time to explore ‘ what gets in the way’.

My life experience has taught me sensitive topics however disconcerting loose their toxicity once acknowledged . I believe if sensitive issues are hidden they can have an unpleasant habit of re -emerging. It is not uncommon for people to believe they cannot share their experience's as they could be viewed as too shocking or shameful. As a counsellor I work to move away from limiting language and judgements that can trap us in our negative thought processes. Once we are open our healing process can begin , allowing a true sense of autonomy

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
